Should I do sconces on the mirror? - please check out pic!
Comments (72)Yes, crazyhouse6, the crystal ball sconces come single. These are my final contenders, but leaning (right now) heavily toward the first one. The shade on it is actually glass. I also like the LENGTH (for my space) of the second one and the last two, but the last two are probably too modern. What do you guys vote for? Finding out later today if they can put the sconces on the towers without yanking out the towers and repainting. Here's my two favorite chandys and another inspiration photo so you can see where I'm coming from (if you don't already know!) - simple tile pattern, monochromatic, but romantic finishings:...See MoreI Need Help Selecting a Bathroom Mirror (pic heavy)
Comments (8)Natebear and snookums2 thanks to you both for commenting. I like the oval and that was always going to be the mirror, the one with the frame #1. Then I found that frame material and it looks lovely with my paint choices and the marble. The vanity will be painted a semi sheen light med gray. The walls are a light gray. Both will have blue undertones that really pick up the hints of blue in the finish on the frame. The sconces may have to go. I really like them but they are bigger than I thought they would look. I bought them online. The vanity will take up some of the depth to help offset the size of the sconces I think. The location of the sconces are set, but the style may have to change. The #s1 and 2 seem safe to me. #8 I am liking now, but it changes moment by moment! HElp! I will not commit to the mirror until the vanity is in in a week or 2. But I want to get some input with what I am thinking, and you guys always come through with great feedback....See MoreTV console dilemma . . . Opinions please. Pics included.
Comments (29)I looked at yours again then looked at and measured ours. We have a 60" TV sitting on a 62" console...but the wall it is on is only about 68" long so we could not have gone with a longer console....there's about 3" of wall on each side. And I think that's the reason ours looks OK...the entire wall is TV and console. Since you have wall space on each side, it makes the console look dwarfed. Putting something on each side will make it look more proportional. I like the idea of a tall plant by the window. Maybe taller candleholders on the other side like the ones you have by the window, or even a large vertical print....See MoreHelp on deciding height of sconces and picture over fireplace, pls.
Comments (16)@Home Owner Thank you for your help!. Glad you like the sconces as we do, too. We are thinking the current painting is a bit small. So, perhaps rather than centering them horizontally between edge of small painting and edge of upper fireplace wall, we might move them over enough to the edge of the fireplace wall to accommodate a larger pic in the future. What height would you hang the fireplace picture. Would you centre that vertically from ceiling to top of mantel or a bit lower than centre. We do want to make sure we can place some items on the mantel. @calidesign Thanks for your input. The decision to put in a hearth was made years ago (this has been the longest DIY project in history - 9 years!) We prefer the more traditional look of a hearth vs the more modern look of no hearth. Even if we had changed our minds, the hardwood floor has been done and the height of the firebox was installed with a hearth in mind, and we are fine with these past decisons....See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
