One Wall - Two Rooms, Paint Help Pls.

We have one very long wall - one side the Great Room, stair case, the other side Dining Room. The rooms have different furniture and decorations. I would like to paint the dining room a very pale green and the great room a warm pumpkin-like color. What can I do to divide these two rooms visually ?

This is what I did between the kitchen and living room...
watching the HGTV channel and they put fake frames every where...{{!gwi}}

Floating hardwoods have maximum lengths and maximum widths that they are allowed to run. These will differ depending on the direction of the long-edge and the direction of the short edge. With your room shape and the type of install, the decision may be made for you. Simply find the installation instructions and read them...carefully. Somewhere on that sheet there SHOULD be a 'maximum run' or 'maximum dimensions' without requiring a transition strip. You will also wish to find out the requirements for t-moldings through door ways or at pinch points in the space (pinch point is like the entrance to a hallway or the "breezeway" that you have as the entrance to your kitchen). A T-molding requirement might also help dictate the direction of the planks. All of these things must be discovered and put into consideration when trying to determine plank direction and the space it applies to. Step 1: Read the installation instructions a few times. It should take 3-5 readings to catch all the technical requirements.

So same shade as the beige in the pillows or a lighter (cream) shade? And do you really think a creamy white would go well under the printed set as well?? There's def no cream in it. It's an odd set I know. It's what I'm stuck with though.

Yes it comes from the south...lots of light and really high ceilings. I think maybe the brown on the walls now throws off the colors but if you look at the picture of where the shelves are going to be , both those colors are also on there. thanks so much. smoke embers on top and cumulus cloud on the bottom.

I recently remodeled and changed the double sinks for one sink plus a nice area where I can sit down for my ablutions. I wanted the increased counter space as well as the increased storage space. I don't spend that much time over a sink anyway so I don't see what the big deal is to have one sink. I especially think it is ridiculous when I see two sinks crammed into a small vanity with a tiny bit of counter space - so big deal you have a dysfunctional bathroom space but you have two sinks. I remodeled for my needs and my aesthetic vision. I am not planning to move and if someone doesn't like it, they can fairly easily just reconnect the plumbing and add the second sink. In terms of mirror treatment, I did a ceiling to counter wall to wall mirror but then put two different mirror treatments above the sink and the "grooming area". The wall to wall mirrors lightens and enlarges my rather small space and the two different mirror treatments differentiate it as well. I also have two Art Deco style sconces above the sink and a version a makeup lighting above the grooming sit down area.

Except in Annainva's case she has stairs and on the GR side there's really no place to put a frame b/c of the stairs and the railing area. I also don't think it would work on the DR side b/c of the stairs.

Is there a color that would complement both decors? The other walls in those rooms could be different.

I have a two story entryway that's painted the same color as my dining room. It leads into my living room which has ten foot ceilings. The living room is green, the dining room is taupe. I just stopped the taupe paint where the ceiling changes. I know it's completely against the rules, but for me it's the best solution.

Is there a green paint color that you've already picked out? I think a light olive green would go well with the pumpkin.

Thank you all for great suggestions. What I failed to mention is that there is a high window on that same wall just opposite the staircase, so that means that this part of the wall is 17 feet high, 9 bottom, 8 top. I might have come up with a solution (hubby might not like it) and perhaps work with a narrow and high wall mural such as below. What do you all think ?
