Gallery Update: Stairs

For anyone who is interested, I just added a few new pictures to the Staircases thread in our Gallery. If you're looking for how to decorate on or around a staircase, this is the thread to see. Or, if you just like pretty decor pix, don't miss it. :o)

If you have cool pictures to add, please do so! Just make sure your pics aren't too big, please. Thanks.

I have a question about adding photos to the gallery. Is it fair game to add pictures that came from another website? I have quite a few that I copied to my computer from other sites because I was afraid they would be removed. I'd love to share them here, but don't want to violate any copyrights.

Need advice, please - replacing gallery/stair balusters

They have a selection at my home depot here in upstate NY. They have swisted iron without the birdcage and also they have available with the birdcage and then they also have stainable railings made of a variety of wood. I bought one with the birdcage and brought it home just to see what it would look like in my house. Each baulster was under $10. Maybe stop by your homedepot and pick one up just to see how you would like it in your home. Good luck!

First things first...Why is the Brooklyn Bridge hung sideways??? Then...Why are there pictures at knee height? Literally. The top frame of the bottom row is no more than 20" above the stair that it's next to. Take out the bottom 7 frames and put some of them above the remaining ones. Ditch the tiny ones. I would never put frames with glass along a stair (and especially at the bottom of a landing). Stairs are the most dangerous places to walk in a house, and all it takes is one errant grab to stop a fall and you'll have a serious wound. Overall, I think it's too busy, with no theme (even a loose one). It's too random, and looks like it's space fillers from a décor store. I love cats, but that just looks like a gimmick. Get some personal stuff up there.

Thanks! I just want everyone to know the threads are there. There are also some incredible color threads in our gallery that are great for folks picking out paint colors. The gallery is a great resource!

WOW! Some of these are so amazing! I think my favorite is the all white European-looking one-so simple and it makes me want to climb up to whatever is above. Then again, I love the painted steps with the tree and the walls of the trees and the one of the road...and that picture of the little boy can't help but make you smile and also...oh well, you get the picture-THANKS for the link.

In 2015, many of the photos in the staircase gallery have been replaced with ads -- the same few ads, over and over.
Still, if one perseveres, there are many photos -- many inspiring and a few just simply amazing and fun to see and imagine.
