That is interesting, I am in the California East Bay Area and have been pruning to my eye and leaf-strip often. Anything I do not like I remove. I am very new to the world of roses so every success is a lovely accident. I loved him saying to get intimate with your roses and learn their indivisuality. I have been feeling that more and more- what I do may not work but I begin to find what is better and continue in that direction. Maybe lots of us are afraid of growing roses because of all the 'rules' and they differ for each type, like computers, we fear some devastating catastrophy. The longer I share our land with roses the more I appreciate how forgiving of my mistakes they can be, and my pc simply forces me to learn more, nothing horrific, frustrating but learn and go on. I do not find his guidance fearful but more open to learn in your own garden. He makes instruction fun! And of course you already picked up that I am not roses in a row but love weaving them together. I'm surprised how the simple drawing are quicker to understand than photographs, no distractions from the idea expressed. Bill, I am so grateful for this excellent book and I paid for it so I can underline, highlight, get it dirty and let it live in my garden with me for quick reference and/or inspiration! I would love to watch him prune! I'm dyslexic and reading is work, you have given me my favorite book. Thanks.....

Getting off topic, but here is the latest craigslist annoying scam that I fell for: I posted to give something away, got a response, replied that the person could have the item, and the spammer sends this back: OK, thank you for getting back to me. Actually i cant get it right now anyways, my son just put a HUGE dent in my van and now im gonna need to figure out how much money its gonna cost to repair it. ugh! Im so happy he didn't get hurt but of course it just had to happen now, when i am finally making good money with this home income program i've been doing. You know, if you want, theyve just opened up 2 more positions in our area. Basically you get paid to post links online, its very easy and I usually just do it while watching tv. She's asking $250 for that floral recliner. It's Lazy Boy brand. I emailed her about how much use it has seen and the condition. She said it is 6 years old but for 2 of those it was not used at all. She said the only wear might be on the footrest but would take care of with a cleaning. Also said that Lazy boy good brand with a good life ahead of it. She said she paid such and such $950 and so doesn't know if she can let go for less. (I offered $175 and she is asking $250) She said the best thing to do is come see it.. (I agree) but I already KNOW there is no way I am paying $250. period. Not for a 6 year old recliner. Soooooooooooo I already think my $175 is more than fair based on CL prices in our area but what do you guys think What is the MOST you would pay for this chair. IF you wanted it to complete your room setting lol Should I offer $200 ? or Keep looking? OH I already emailed her and said.. your city is a ways to drive and if we drive that far .. we are taking the chair with us (provided it's in great shape) However we can't pay $250 and would like to know your bottom line price that you will accept before we drive out there. Sorry for disappearing. I was away from the computer today. les I was hoping to see you again. Me and my weird room, eh? Yes, the french doors swing into the room though we've locked one side down and only have one open for the dog to go around in circles. Your concern about the two cabinets and the placement is well placed. Tomorrow I will have manpower to help move a few things around. The bar is currently in the dining area and will go back to where it is in the picture. The china cabinet is currently where the two floral chairs are with the tall table. I really like it there because it is filled with my blue and white collectibles that you see when you come in the door. I hope to plot this out better on one of those arrange a room things tomorrow. Les if I understand your idea, you could still see four chairs in there but placed differently? Plus the daybed? Interesting idea, BTW, on the daybed. I'm going to ponder that. Like you, I didn't want to close off the room. I was thinking of the chairs (slightly angled) but facing each other almost as if there were a pair of matching loveseats coming out from the fireplace. And I was thinking a small round table not a large one.
