Exterior color scheme question; where does color belong?

Our house is is white cedar shake w/ a cedar shake roof. The front entry has a copper shed roof as does the dining room and the skylight over the breakfast area.

The only color on the exterior is our front door, which is BM Hampshire Grey (let's call it HG for short). Except for the cloak room and the pantry, all of the interior of our home is various shades of FnB whites and creams. Our DR is mostly windows and the muntins on the interior are HG.

We are now working on our little stonehouse project. The stonehouse is set a ways away from the house.. I want the stonehouse to look cozy and intimate and like it has been there forever. I think the window and french door muntins on the stonehouse should be painted HS, to blend with the stone.

DH says the stonehouse trim should be white, like all of the other windows.

More intriguing, though, is his second point. If we go with HG on the stonehouse to sort of demarcate it as an accessory building, he thinks we should also use HG in a few other areas, to wit:

1. The garage doors

2. The doors and windows on a our small "barn"

3. The "back door"; our house has a lot of doorways to patios, a courtyard, etc. But we have a front to back center hall. The front hall door is a double barn door painted HS. The back hall door is a large 2/2 french door; not much surface to paint, but it is currently white.

What do you think?

a. Should the stonehouse trim be white or HG

b. Should be use more HG on the exterior of the regular house?
