okay I confess. I ran home to shower and feed the cat as I've been staying at the hospital with my husband. He is recovering from heart surgery he had last Thursday. I logged on to check messages and found myself 'drifting' off to read something fun and lighthearted. Time to get back to the hospital. I should be packing and cleaning out closets to prepare to move to our new, post-Katrina house. It is truly amazing - we lost everything we owned in the storm, but still have somehow managed to acquire "stuff." Like someone else said, being here on gardenweb is a lot more fun!

I am calculating benefit checks while eating my lunch while looking here. Which is what I usually do. I only get 30 min for lunch and our breakroom is boring so I do it this way. This way I take a lunch but get some lunch and surfing done.

We moved months ago and still have boxes that need to be emptied. I should also be organizing our closets and throwing away "stuff" that I can't seem to get rid of. What's really weird is I'm actually very neat and organized, but as I get older, I let things slide and mount up. My energy and motivation levels are nil.

I should be Paying my 3rd QTR taxes - anything is better then that!!! Times running out.........

Just got home from work. Always take a "breather" at the computer before I get started.

Have supper to make, then prime the bedroom walls and woodwork that we emptied this weekend. Haven't started my garden clean up yet. "Gets dark too early during the week" is my excuse for that one. Laundry, dishes, should do some cleaning too, but with all the bedroom stuff scattered throughout the house, that would be difficult.

I am taking online courses at MSU in geosciences and I have about 4 labs that I need to do. They take at least an hour - hour and half to do and sometimes they frustrate me to no end so I come on here and read about everyone's beautiful CREATIVE designs. The site inspires me to do SOMETHING with my master bedroom which is still in the same lousy boring state as it was a year ago. We have been in the house exactly 2 years now and I still can't commit to a color, bedspread, or curtains. Ok, TMI. I don't want to make a mistake and spend lots of money and not be happy with it. I find the space sooooo large and cavernous that I don't know what to do with it.

Ugh, garden cleanup. We have to go over to the old house and do that weekend after next. (Samhain party this weekend.) DH would go do it himself but I need to supervise so he doesn't rip out perennials or shrubs. I haven't been over for a couple of weeks, I find it does not make me happy. The realtor's office is literally 500 yards from the house though so I have her checking up on the place.

I did take a break when DH got home and we got some stuff done. Heating company is coming tomorrow morning to put the oil tank in and do what they can with the other stuff that needs doing, what they can't do will be finished up a week from Friday. DH and a friend moved the new dresser upstairs - it fits perfectly in a niche in the upstairs hallway, and I got custody of another, smaller dresser for my clothes. (DH will keep his clothes out in the hallway dresser and closet because he gets up at an ungodly hour and I'm a very light sleeper.) We got pictures up in the kitchen sitting room, and we'll try to get ones in the living room done tomorrow.

I'm retired now. I FEEL like I SHOULD be doing something productive, but I've already done everything on today's "to do" list. It has been a very difficult adjustment to make my Type A self go from a workaholic to a goof-off! LOL (when not gardening, then writing or decorating)

i should be organizing my dvds. since we moved, they are still in the boxes (6months!). i'm not sure what i'm going to put them in, so i can just put it off for now. johnmari--happy samhain!

Since you asked.... I should be cleaning as we have family coming over for few days. I should be hanging pictures/frames in the bedrooms - we moved in January, still has no pics up on the wall upstairs. I should be tidying up in the garage so we can actually park the cars there,LOL.

Nothing! I've spent all day and the entire last week packing. Movers come to load on Monday and deliver on Tuesday. The only break I've taken was to dig clematis from my garden that I refuse to leave for the new owner to destroy!

I've been spending so much time and attention to the new house we're building I've been neglecting this one. On the surface, everything looks tidy, but I haven't done any "deep cleaning" for a long time.

We had freezing temps this morning. When I went to take the dogs out, there was my winter parka in the coat closet - hadn't been put away for the summer. Hey, maybe I've discovered something here...if you procrastinate long enough...

That's funny, AMCK. My husband neglects putting his shoes away (and all other clothing as well) but the shoes bug me. I pick up his clothes, for the most part, and put them in the dirty clothes closet, which is approximately 10 steps from the shower but he leaves his shoes wherever. I admonish him to put them away, but he replies, "Well, I am going to put them back on in the morning." He tires of me asking if he thinks the shoes might shrink if he put them away overnight, or his feet might swell." Maybe he has figured something out, but all I know is that it bugs the heck out of me.

Doing a brain transplant - oh well, he's under anesthesia, he can wait...

I have a long "to do" list that I don't even want to think about but in many ways my list is just like rich69's list: I should be getting ready for family visitors this weekend, hanging up art and cleaning out the garage. We moved here in February and our three-car garage is still full of boxes. And it's probably all stuff that can be thrown out, if I could get myself to throw anything out.

I am completely and utterly addicted to this site.

OK, this started on Monday and today is Thursday - I guess I should be doing the stuff I should have been doing on Monday!!! The truck came this morning to pick up some IRS stuff I've been trying to get rid of since I moved into the house, almost 5yrs ago. Now that leaves me corner to put the things that I kept in the floor in the other rooms because I didn't have space. Tonight though, I'm getting off of this contraption and putting away the clothes I washed over the weekend. My new washer and dryer are so great that now I actually like doing laundry - that took a lot!! I've washed everything in sight. Problem - I need to put the stuff away!!

Sleeping, definitely! A few hours at night after the kids go to bed is the only time I have to myself, so I stay up much later than I should so I can surf the web and return emails.

Sleeping, but I can't sleep because I have homework to do (Comp 101...big yawner), researching feeding clinics, filing out medical paperwork for DS, making bottles, I think the litter box needs to be changed...

Tinker...that is terrible! Why did you miss your cruise? What cruise line and ship? We have 3 coming up in December.. just short ones...a 5 and 4 night back to back on the Navigator of the Seas and doing a mad dash from Port Everglades to the port of Miami to hop on a quick 4 nighter on our Favorite ship, the Brilliance of the Seas, the same day we get of the NOS in Ft.Lauderdale. All in all 13 nights.
We'd be sick if we couldn't go.
