I used Granite Transformations in my little bathroom on the countertop. I chose the pearly colored oyster instead of the granites because I had already chosen and paid for granite in the other rooms. I wish I had found them before I did my kitchen. I have no problem with it, and it looks wonderful. Except they did tell me the pearl one I chose will not hold up in a kitchen because of its properties. It is for a rarely used half bath so I wanted it and knew it would hold up fine there.

My understanding from a friend who designs interiors of upscale hotels, where she uses is, is that she uses it because of its durability and ease of installation, etc. I think she probably gets a good deal on it because for her she is buying their service in quantity, sotaspeak. I have seen some of the hotels/motels in which she has used it and it looks great! It holds up well.

Her husband is in the construction business and she said he felt it was a great choice. In fact, they have used it in their kitchen and one bathroom. Like me, she had already chosen granite for the other rooms before she knew about it.

That is interesting to read, Patricia 43. I had not heard from anyone who actually used it. Could you post a picture of the counter? I also had noticed on their web site that they only seemed to show straight corners. DO you have curved or straight? thank you!

I have the straight corners, but I think they told me that it was because I chose the oyster, rather than the granite, which is what they say the composition of the white is from, the pearl, mother of pearl look.

I do not do pictures well since I have a problem with vision, but if I recall my friend has an ogee edge on her master bath, but I would not swear to that. I can call her and check. In fact, I will do that tonight, as I need to discuss something else with her.

Her countertops are every bit as pretty, if not prettier, than my granite ones. It is hard to judge the one that I have compared to granite since it is not the granite composition that others are but hers are, and I will certainly ask her, but I do know that she loves them. She is always saying so. :)

There is another thread here some place regarding granite transformations. If I remember well, not everyone liked them.

We looked into GT when we redid our kitchen. We did not choose them because they can only do square corners, and they cannot do bullnose (rounded) edges, and that was important to us.

We chose Silestone instead and are very happy with it.
