PS; Current color is Cabot's Dune Gray....

My previous home was color matched to Dune Gray in SW Duration and then the deck was done in Cabot's Dune Gray. Loved the color! It's a great Gray but changing it up a bit with the color when you have a chance is fun and the change is always nice!

It DOES have a different feel w/out shutters! Very nice.

I love it without the shutters and I'd use a robins egg blue door.

I can't photoshop for you, but I like the house without shutters, too. There is one house in our neighborhood that has gone shutter-free (almost exactly the same as yours)and I love it-reminds me of a NE salt box.

Can't wait to see the photoshop when it is done. I like both colors. The lighter one is similar to ours (Duron Woodcut), but we have a completely different style, so no help there either, I'm afraid. I'll be quiet now. :)

The door color is staying as is since it was a factory paint job. No way would I put a oool color blue with the warm browns I have chosen. I am trying to get way from the cool color I have on hte house now.

Trim and door will stay, only looking for which shade of brown to go with; lighter tan or deeper tan/brown. We will be replacing front walkway as well which will be natural stone. I like natural colors, warm colors. If I go shutterless I will be adding on window trim to the top of the 4 bottom windows; nothing elaborate, matches the lower portion of the top door surround and that would also be in the trim color, Yukon.

I didn't read carefully enough to see that you didn't want shutters. I don't have photoshop, but can try again tomorrow with the photo without shutters unless someone with photoshop does one for you. I would do better with a bigger picture too. I don't have Dunn Edwards on my program so used BM and picked one that looked similar to Tuscan Mosaic 1st pic, and Egyptian Sand 2nd pic (at least on my monitor). I just picked a black for the shutters.

I think I am leaning more towards the darker color, but still not sure. The lighter house looks a tad yellow to me and the darker color looks like it has red/pink in the background. I was looking more for warm tans. Goodness, this is hard!

Have you thought about using a pretty gray? Maybe a historical color of grey.

Can't help too much, other than to say that I like the mock up both the dark and the light house color! But, I also preferred the pic with NO shutters so hopefully someone can help you see the colors on that option. Without shutters the house looks fresher and more open/inviting. But, if you don't have shutters, are you going to have other than white for the trim on the windows? Seems to me you would want a dark trim on windows if no shutters...sort of like eyeliner or mascara for the eyes of the house. Otherwise to me, on the pic without shutters it looks sort of washed out. (Which is how I look if I don't put a touch of mascara on my blond eyelashes!)

Crazy, went to the paint store and came home with a new favorite, excited looking at my drying paint swatch of California Paints Natural Bridge! It's still a tan, deeper, richer and with some green in it.

The house will retain the trim color in Yukon, it's a bit brighter than what is on there currently. The door surround was painted in Yukon and you can tell it's different in person, hard to see in pictures. If we go shutterless, the house color will be deeper than it is currently so the trim will stand out more, plus we are adding simple toppings to the lower level of windows, regardless of our decision on shutters. I don't think we could pull off the shutterless look with the faded Dune Gray we have currently, it would be too monotone, too plain.

Jeannie, the Dune Gray we have on it now started out more sandy colored but has faded to a gray color over the years. It was a lovely color, I picked it and loved it while we had it, but want a change so we have been searching colors.

Here is the Natural Bridge, really subtle difference, but there is green in there which looks good so far in person.

Still can't figure out my Photoshop Elements program to see if I can 'paint' the house in it, this old dog is having a hard time with new tricks.

Here are a few without shutters. If you'll tell me which way to go, like more green, more gray, more tan on each one, I might be able to tweak the colors. My program has the color and that changes depending on the saturation and intensity.

Also, I only have Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams colors to choose from so have to guess which is closer to your color as I see it on my monitor, and that changes if I tilt my monitor a little.

Ooh, don't know about sandra but I'm getting excited. So far, I like the dark blue one best, then the charcoal colour. Does this house see snow in winter?
Can you try BM Tarrytown green or Hastings red or Newburg green (which is really blue)? You're a doll, marti... :)

I do like the turquiose, grays and blues, but, we are a small neighborhood of 22 homes of which 4 are differing shades of blues and grays. We have whites and creamy white, yellows and creamy yellow, natural cedar, one a pinky color, creamy gray, dark gray and multiple blues. We did like the dune gray although too light to go shutterless, however folks on the street behind us liked it as well so their house is the same color as ours now. We are trying to be different. There is one tan/green home on the way up our hill which contains 4 streets, and another green. We would like to stay in the warm, natural spectrum. We tend to be dark and dreary in winter with snow, yes, and lots of cloud cover, don't want to go too dark - that's where we were before the Dune Gray. I have real paned glass windows, so trim color will not change. Tha paint store recommended natural colors since they retain color longer with less fading.

What colors are the 2nd and 6th house in the 2nd set of pics ? So cool to see the house look so different. I do like the shutterless look; we'd be only the 2nd home to go that route - like it!

The 2nd photo on the 2nd strip of shutterless is SW Sage Green Light and the 6th is SW Downing Stone. You can right click on the photo, hit properties and see the name of the color at the end of the name.

If you get a chance, could you try a mock up with SW2827 Colonial Revival Stone? On my monitor it looks close to the Natural Bridge although a tad lighter.

Are those done in Photoshop? I have Elements, I know this can be done, just can't figure out how to add the color I want into the color palette. Would it help if I took a pic of the house with my sample board taped to it? Could I then change the whole house color to that of the sample?

Actually, the 7th photo in the 2nd set of shutterless pictures is SW2827, I just didn't type the whole name.

I use BH&G Picture Painter, and the color can be adjusted 3 ways so I can't be totally sure it's the color you want.

Here's just one adjustment, the translucency, set at both 50 and 100. The color chip is in the top right corner, and the translucency, brightness, and saturation bars can be moved until the color on the house matches the chip.

I'm not sure what the settings are on that #7 photo. Can you see the slight difference in these two settings?

The other two bars adjust the color. Here is one with the translucency at 100 and the other two in the neutral position.

I really don't understand why there are adjustments, and why they don't just make it the color of the chip, unless it's to compensate for shadows and sun intensity.

So if you see a color that doesn't look quite the same as the chip you are seeing, tell me which way to go - darker, greener, redder, etc.

I truly thank you for all your time! I think we decided on the Natural Bridge; the photoshopped color looks off from the sample and I couldn't decide for sure, so I bought a gallon and stained one of the shed doors. Figured if we didn't like it, we were out a gallon and the search continued.

Here it is. Left side is Natural Bridge and right side is the current Dune Gray. Opinions? In person, it is a natural brown, deep tan color but does have some green tinge to it.

You're welcome. I like the color on the left side of your shed. It looks like a dark sage on my monitor, but I actually think that makes it look better with your roof.

Staining started today; being a stay at home mom without the budget for watching, hubby and I were outside right along side the workers - I am pooped! We got the shed done and made progress although I wish we could have gotten more done. They had to replace lots of wood trim around my windows and they caulked the daylights out of everything.

I didn't sleep last night at all, freaked out over the color. I had done another sample last night; the stain is quite interesting, it's almost like the full spectrum paints I have in my house - constantly changing color. Unfortunately, in the dim light last evening, with it being wet, the last thought I had was baby diaper poop color and I freaked.

Thank heavens, no poopy diaper look to the house! Once you get the color on and away from the Dune Gray, it is everything we had hoped it would be. Pics coming when complete.
