We used BM Barley and I love that color. Feels like being bathed in warm gentle sunlight glow. The color is quite moody and changes by light.

I really like Sherwin Williams Compatible Cream with red tones. I don't think it has a rustic feel though.

SW Compatible cream and SW Restrained Gold look great with reds.

There is a warm yellow with a banal name: Suntan yellow from BM. It looks very nice with the dark, grey-ed out of my long-ago painted red barns.

It's not a yellow-reading cream; it's definitely a soft, warm yellow. I painted one of my beehives that color this spring and it sat next to the red barn, in light shade, and just glowed all summer. My girls like it a lot!

You might try sampling it and see how it works in your space.

I wouldn't do yellow with red if you're looking for any level of sophistication for this condo.

It is tricky to find a yellow to go with red that doesn't scream McDonalds's. Make sure that the yellow is very muted.

I like gold and red, but yellow and red? Like ketchup on scrambled eggs.

Not so much!

Well, a color like Barley isn't going to look quite like those screaming yellows shown above.

You might look at Key West Ivory or Rich Cream for a creamier subtle yellow.

Take a look at SW Whole Wheat. It's a beige/soft gold and is cozy.

Just wanted to say I love red and yellow together, especially at night and in the winter. Wish I had a current great name to suggest, although so much is going to depend on the light in your condo, but here are some pictures I couldn't resist browsing.

My next home will have a red and yellow living room, with, inevitably, some golden orange, greens and blues also playing minor but important parts too. Mine will start with our predominantly red Persian rug that's hiding out in my office right now, and I notice that three of these have rugs as important elements.

Thanks for asking, ellendi. I don't design spaces in a vacuum. I'm sure that katie111's condo has fixed items like flooring, cabinets, tile, stone & view all of which will have an effect on what colors to choose and what the inspiration might be.

Of course the red sofa, that been selected, which could be in a red that leans towards blue, or in a red that leans toward orange. That will also effect the paint colors selected.

I might consider pushing the envelop for the ski condo and adopt a red buffalo plaid concept. Maybe a dark linen color for the walls.

I used Bombay Gold in my living room and my sister used Butter Pecan in hers. I liked them both.

I have had red sofas for about 12 years now and in the previous house I had BM HC 34 Wilmington Tan. Currently, I have BM HC 28 Shelborne Buf with the red sofas. The Wilmington Tan had more gold in it and the Shelborne Buff is softer. They each have worked well in their respective spaces.

We mainly used red, yellow and sage as the colors in our home. We found Stuart Gold by Benjamin Moore to be a warm gold that went well with our reds.

We have BM Rich Cream...and I have a lot of red in my rooms. It's a bit lighter than butter.
