Looking for a good blue/green paint color
Comments (17)What pretty rooms!! I haven't used these, but always hear good things about Benjamin Moore Smokey Green, Woodlawn Blue, Palladian Blue and Gray Cashmere. Here are a couple of Designer comments on 2 of these: Don't be fooled by the name. On a paint chip or in small quantities, SMOKY GREEN CC-700, BENJAMIN MOORE can look green, but on walls it takes on a gorgeous robin's egg blue tone. It's relaxing and what I call a dirty kind of blue. I'd use a latex eggshell finish and paint a bathroom, bedroom or kitchen this colour. I'd paint the trim Benjamin Moore's Cloud White CC-40 for a warm effect or Simply White OC-117 for a crisper look. Mix this blue with silver accessories like frames, lamps or Venetian mirrors." Costantino D'Elia, designer, Toronto "My favourite blue, WOODLAWN BLUE HC-147, BENJAMIN MOORE reminds me of a sunny Alberta sky or West Coast beach. It's peaceful, comforting and promotes a feeling of tranquility. It works just as well with traditional antiques as it does with modern furniture. I like it against accents of ivory, pink, fuchsia, brown and creamy gold." Brenda Porter, interior designer, Calgary Lurkish-I've seen SW Sea Salt on the chip & think it's a beautiful colour! Good Luck:) L....See MoreLooking for a 'new' neutral that is not beige-based
Comments (14)Farrow & Ball paint is pricey but will have that "I can't quite figure out what it is" look that you desire. French Gray and Blue Gray are beautiful "neutral" warm grayish colors that change with the light. I think you would like them. Others to look at in various color families include Hardwick White and Stone White (don't let the names fool you, these are not "white;" a friend of mine who sells art uses Hardwick White in the art gallery); green family Vert de Terre, Ball Green and Lichen; dark neutral Charleston Gray; warm Fawn; warm and stony Light Gray and Elephant's Breath; and warm London Stone. If you want less of a neutral and more recognizable color, try exquisite Teresa's Green, a pale robin's-egg-like blue-green that changes hue with the light. There are more worth considering... Find a favorite F&B color and you will never tire looking at it!...See MoreNeed paint color recommendations (calm, neutral, good with blues/gold)
Comments (7)All pretty colours. Top Sail is in the Green Hue Family the others mentioned are all in the Blue-Green Hue Family. Lookout Point is the most greyed of all the colours. Tradewind, although almost 9 points darker, is a more colourful colour than Lookout Point. Any of these colours mentioned will look pretty with those gold decals. It may help you decide by thinking just how much contrast you want the decals to have with wall colour? Subtle variation which you catch by the change of light as you move, or a strong contrast? When you narrow your choice down, I would paint up a couple of boards and apply the decals too. Place them vertically in your space to match the plane of the wall....See MorePaint: neutral aqua blue/green wall paint?
Comments (21)I think one of those kinds of colors will look great in your space- and can go with SO many other colors (taupe, beige, white, pink, red, saffron, teal, green, and cobalt)! I have SW Copen Blue in most of the public rooms of my house... It looks pretty much just like this in my house, most of the time. https://www.houzz.com/photos/leland-cottage-craftsman-phvw-vp~14483924 In my family room I have a less saturated but similar color- Valspar's Winter In Paris....See Moresquirrelheaven
