HELP! Need neutral airy paint for br w/ cream furniture!
Comments (27)I am going to check all these out. No, I am not doing it a lodge theme, I meant that if I wanted to use a red flannel comforter and decorate with lodge items, that it would not clash with the paint......so i need a neutral color that is LIGHT but contrasts with my cream colored furniture -. i dont want green or blue undertones and do not want it to look like a specific color. i think a cappucino color that is warm based maybe???...See MorePlease help me figure this out! Is it worth making a 3rd BR?
Comments (23)Thanks arielitas_mom! yes,my plan is to make a nice, big, luxurious tiled shower along the same wall that the corner shower is now. Probably about 39" w x 6 feet long (unless that's TOO long...). I do feel like this is a compromise, since a 3BR/2BA (and lts face it, most people will use it as 2BR/2BA/office) feels like it's step down, as far as the target market, from the 3BR/3BA/office we'd planned when we bought it. But it's good to hear some positive feedback from you folks about the compromise, because it really would stretch us too far to do the addition. Thank you! So what do you all think about the fact that there's no proper dining room? The DR area is really more of a dining "nook" and there's no place to put a really big dining table. ?????...See MoreHelp me turn CL finds into inspiration BR
Comments (21)Hmmm...a lot to think about. Thanks you to everyone for your ideas. Joaniepoanie, I only paid $5 for the headboard at a local auction (I think they were just happy to have someone haul it away, but it was just what I was looking for!) and $175 for the armoire (Kincaid still sells it for $2200; I know the market is dead for armoires but it has drawers for clothing, and the opening is large enough for the size TV we'll use. Also, I don't like seeing TVs in the bedroom). One nightstand I purchased for $30 and another I had. So, I don't have too much invested. Bbstx, I love that armoire, but I imagined painting the armoire a solid color, with a glaze to give it depth, like coll_123 mentioned. I did a piece DH made for the laundry room, and liked the way it came out. Olychick and nosoccermom, I love those beds! And Thefoxespad, thanks for the info about cane drying out after painting. That's making me rethink my original plan because I don't want to lose that $5 investment! And, yagaga, that color is scrumptious, but I don't think it will go will the shade of blue walls I have; depending on the time of day, they're alternately blue, gray, and blue-purple. Coll_123, you are a wealth of information! I'm thinking now of using the rock miracle to remove the stain from the cane and leaving it natural, then painting the trim. If I do that, would you all suggest painting the armoire and nightstands the same color? Maybe a cream? Or go with the more brown-gray in my 2nd pic?...See MoreMaster BR -Big Challenge- Pls Help !- Lots Pics
Comments (38)I got a body pillow at Wally World today for $8.88. (I could have sworn the tag below said they were $14 or something. I think the register made a mistake. I may have to go back and get two more for bolsters for the daybed and stuff them into a casing. They come in beige, blue, brown, green, and maybe gold. It pays to shop. I tried to find material to match the blue in my comforter, but didn't find that yet. Will keep looking. I did find a chenille throw in a similar color - which in a pinch I could use to cover the body pillow. red lover, I know what you mean about trying the stuff out and being able to see it in person. I have a new policy where I have an envelope in my purse which contains all the receipts for the last month or so from shopping for decorator items. You wouldn't believe how much stuff I have returned. I also returned a bunch of molding pieces to HD and Lowes I wasn't going to use and I got a ton of money back - molding is very expensive because they sell it by the foot. Some I get credit for because I returned stuff I couldn't find the receipt for, but I knew I would be buying more stuff there anyway and the gift cards they give you if you don't have the receipt, really help out. red lover, you are so right about getting stuff in person. There are so many diffeent colors out there - greens can be shade off and they still match, but it seems like the blues can really clash. Thanks for your advice. I don't know what to tell you about the comforter you have - unless you can go to a discount fabric place and cover it with something you like? Some stuff is not very well made these days. But even if you can sew, any fabric purchased is more money than you can buy things already made for - so it's a catch 22....See MoreAnnie Deighnaugh
