Familyroom color suggestions? SW Blonde? Denim sofas

We are decorating our familyroom. There is not alot of light in this room. Not for lack of windows but the trees outside. we are putting pine plank flooring with clear poly down, dark blue denim slipcover sofas, a big oriental rug with reds and blues. Im trying to put a warm color on the walls without darkening the room. I was thinking sw blonde but Im not sure. I want the room to be cozy but not caveish. Anyone have any suggestions for a camel ,deep yellowish color or a deep nice tan or a different color all together???

I have a similar situation- but wanted to mention that I used BM Putnam Ivory in my master bath- and it has a creamy-yellowish camel to it in there. Definitely not cave-ish. (This is why working with these beige/tans is so tricky- they look SO different in each room/exposure.)

I love SW blonde- great idea. You also may like Laura Ashley gold #2 or 3.
Don't forget to show us the finished room. :)

I have ACE Snickerdoodle and love it, Michigan Dunes, the color one darker down the strip is nice too. I think Ace Barley and Summer's Tan are great too - a tad more yellowy, maybe. I also just used Ace Flat Sensations (they're washable flat line with Scotchguard in it) and it looks great. After curing a month supposedly I will be able to wipe it down and anything on it will come right off - spag. sauce, crayons, dirt, lipstick (don't know exactly how that would get there, but even anything oil based will come right off, I'm told!) I also liked SW Muslin and an old SW Martha Stewart color called Pannier is lovely. HTH, kpk

babs I don't have window treatments because the window is boxed in on the sides and top, otherwise I would. As for color for panels, Red gave you some great options. Also I'd have no problem personally with using white panels - I like seeing a white that matches the white of my trim, not a cream or off white (which could look dirty in comparison) or a color, whether it's matching the wall color or something else. Red I can't find my receipt for the fabric but did find the receipt for the slipcover work and it says coverlets. Could be that they were really bedspreads which offer a lot more fabric and it was just written as coverlet but I don't really remember anymore. I know it wasn't 2 per chair because I didn't buy 4. The man who did the work did a fabulous job, but unfortunately has disappeared into the night :-( kswl thank you - I think the geometric makes it special - cleaner, less fussy.

Just want to say thank you for your opinions and pictures. They were all very helpful. This is a big decision for us, as the room is large and we are paying to have it painted this time. We've decided on Clay Beige. Also want to emphasize to test larger swatches of paint on the wall and check it at different times of day. Every paint I tried that looked just like "the one" from pics I saw on Houzz looked totally different in my room. I thought Grant beige was it for sure, but oddly during the day it's quite dark and gray, and at night it lightens up and just looks muddy. Room faces South, but maybe the new window with Uv Light coating changes the light? The Clay beige looks nice, much lighter,and I think with all our large empty wall space it'll look best. Wasnt thinking about contrast with the sofa, but after it was mentioned, it helped seal the choice. Off to find a painter, will post pics when done..thanks again, its feels great to finally make a decision!

To me, it depends on the lining and seams. That’s a small piece of fabric to be able to tell. I’ve seen denim look nice but I’ve seen denim look cheap/like jeans. Lol A sectional is a lot of fabric! Have you tried searching online for a pic of your exact sofa with that fabric? Personally I’d go navy, as it’s classic and you won’t be surprised. I also think the color goes better with your walls.

I love SW Blonde, and decided to paint my great room this color 2 years ago when I built (in sunny SW FL). The great room does have tinted 8', triple sliders and a porch overhang.. and my room was sooooo dark, it drove me nuts! I ended up repainting the entire great room and dining room in SW Compatible Cream. It's lighter, but not much! I wish I went even lighter as it still is very cave feeling, and dark. :( I love SW Blonde in everyone else house, but just too dark for mine.

Although my FR gets tons of light, I used Eddie Bauer's "Caramel"...even when the sun has set, it looks light and yummy. This picture shows much more yellow than it actually is - much creamier in person.
