Red, here you go and I've posted them a gazillion times but hopefully they will help. These are my DR drapes. They are 2 widths and are made out of silk.

I just ordered some fringed panels.

They're still in the box because I'm afraid to open them. I thought they would be returnable (long story) but it seems like they're being classified as custom. They are done in an ikat (my favorite) pattern and will go in my office that I hope to paint Baby Turtle.

Because of the economy, I had to cheap out on the rest of the WTs in the house. These were my splurge and came when I was away for most of the week. Maybe I'll get my courage up and take a peek.

Deborah, those are so pretty! I have seen them, but as you know, things we've seen we can't find photos of, when we want to see them again.

(I know what you mean. I waited 2 days to look at my fabric after it came! And even though it's pretty pretty, I think it's too soft looking for the kitchen. I may make some drapes out of it anyway and try to sell on Ebay. I bought new fabric for the kitchen, so that's the thing I'm working on a plan for. I need to start tomorrow!!)

OK, just to help keep your post on top, here are some panels of mine. They have a sewn in top and are banded around the sides.

Now I'm rethinking the Baby Turtle. Drapes are very warm and the BT chip looks kinda cool. I don't mind mixing the two but it can be tricky. Is there any yellow, at all, in it?

I did these for my daughters room. We mounted them to a board box to hang. Very little sewing.

These are the only drapes/curtains in our whole house. I'm really wanting to get some made for our great room and I'm just wanting the panels, without a valance.

Red...mine are all just regular one fabric panels that I've clipped with rings.
I'm a drapery panel person- all my windows have panels!

I have a fabulous toile upstairs, linen and the pattern is in a blueberry color and these will one day be panels with no pleats. I will just use clips to give a casual feel and eventually will save enough money to purchase a fab trim to go on the sides. The problem is I am chicken. It is a nice fabric and I am afraid to touch it with my limited sewing skills. I try to say courage girl, but alas, it fails me.

Ok, I am not getting something & I sew, well have in the past. What are these clips you are talking about? I am not familiar with clips. Red, if I can attempt to post pictures, I will show you mine.

Parma, I would not call Baby Turtle cool at all. It's a warm tone, with undertone of yellow green and a slight cast towards a brown green in some light. Whether it will go with your fabric or not is another story of course. Do you have a sample yet? And I have to say, that, as much as I love to repaint and change everything up, I love the BT in my hall and living room. It works with all the colors I use in my house.

Laurie, thanks for posting the closeup of the clip rings, it is a pain to not know what others are referring to.

I didn't sew these - but my checked panels were too short & my drapery guy added the valance with trim. I already had the solid gold fabric & crossed my fingers it would work. I have used these checked panels in 3 houses now - kinda getting sick of them now, thou.

Maybe these pics will help you with figuring out construction - it is drapery lining attached to the top of the drapes & the valance folded over.

While looking for something else, I found my old asking for inspiration thread from September. Some of you saw how my kitchen window treatments turned out, but this is the "What I ended up doing" post to my thread. And all the pictures helped cement in my mind that I needed to do drapes. I was considering another shade and wanted to be talked out of it!

These are in my family room-sorry I don't have a better picture. I made long 6 inch "buttonholes across the top of the chenille panels I made and then wove a length of solid colored silk through. They hang by loops from iron hooks

Here are the rod pockets that I converted into pinch pleats. Next project: adding a band to the drapes I have in the living room (can't decide on the color of the band, though).
