How to hang curtains in asymmetrical corner windows?

I need to hang my curtains, but I just don't know how I should do it. I bought the wooden rods and necessary hardware, along with 8 curtain panels many months ago. The function of these curtains are to dress the windows and to absorb sound. They will rarely (never?) be actually pulled closed. We will not be using blinds.

Here are the windows in question. (Please imagine some day in the future when I replace the pack n play and old arm chair with leather chairs... and maybe someday we will have a real coffee table. LOL)

And here are the curtains that I purchased.

The space on the windows next to the fireplace is so limited. There is hardly any room once I add finials. I'm wondering if I should use a corner connector and just forget about finials on the inner corners? Then the whole corner would be covered with curtains.

Or if I mount a rod with end finials on each end about each window, would I go ahead and make each rod the same length? I obviously have more room on the side walls than on the back wall. Should everything be exactly the same, or would it look better to make the side windows' rod a bit wider?

If the rod finials are the problem, you can use medallions instead to hang the curtain off of....and drape each side to the corner with a tie back.

Only thing is, in the right corner, if that's a security or safety device, it may have to be moved ... most likely you can't have a curtain covering it.

Or if you were planning on hanging the rod at the upper mullion instead of above the window trim, then a rod that turns the corner

I would definitely use a corner rod with the wrap-around ends as shown above. The returns on the sides will allow you to have more fabric stacked on the fireplace sides. Also, the panels are not very thick and so you can also tie them back a bit from the window. The corner rod will be so much easier to work with. I recently mounted two perpendicular rods, butting against each other in a corner, instead of a corner rod. Very difficult to get right.

Well will the curtains be custom or readymade? That might help you decide. While some like a rod under the ceiling, I'm not a fan of seeing all that wall space between the top of the window and the rod. So, there is no correct answer, it's a matter of preference or necessity. It should be at least 4" above the window/molding if possible and can go all the way up to the ceiling, or anywhere in between.

I don’t think it would, if you like a full look like this, and with the one window butting up to the wall — it could have a glam and luxe feel. I wouldn’t worry about the symmetry too much, and just go for the look you like. :) I’m going to generalize, but I find we Americans can be too rigid in decorating, too mathematical. I get most of my inspiration from European designs.

Thank you for all these suggestions! I measured the windows to see if roman shades would fit, but they're not quite deep enough, and I think outside mounted would block too much of the view. I guess I'm back to trying to mount drapes! The cafe curtains are lovely but some of the windows face neighbors, so I would need more privacy.

I also agree with @Patricia Colwell that Roman Shades would look best on these challenging windows! As @Valinta said, there are linen look fabrics which would be very pretty in this bedroom. I’d also mount shades at top close to ceiling. I might hang art on wall space next to chair & place the table that’s on left of chair over to right, next to window.

Thank you so much! I hope I wasn't too skewed in my description. DH really doesn't like the idea of the corner mount, but I think it will work best. I'm going to be the one hanging them anyway. I win. ;-)

Thanks again for your advice and support. I am dreading getting the rest of my house decorated. This is not my strength. :-/

Another vote for the corner mount. Just make sure to mount the rods high enough.

Your room is lovely even with the pack n play and interactive coffee table.
