how to seal vapor barrier for box in exterior wall???

I had to cut through the back of a kitchen cabinet, the dry wall behind it and the insulation to reach an exterior outlet in order to install a switch to it. The wiring is done but I'm wondering if I need to somehow reseal the vapor barrier, if there is one, on the insulation backing. It is paper with a black finish on the insulated side. To avoid problems with water vapor condensing on the back of the siding, do I need to somehow tape the existing paper edges of the insulation to the box I installed on the interior side of the wall? I'm hoping since this hole will be 'filled' by the new box and otherwise covered by the plastic cover, that no further work is needed but I wondered what pros do.
