Picking a neutral/calm color for little girl's room

I am going to be painting my little girl's room soon and I need help choosing a color. I dont really want to do white or off white, but I dont want very bright either. I want just a touch of color, something that could match all kinds of decor as my daughter is one day into Dora the Explorer, and the next day it's ladybugs! My aunt painted her bedroom a color called Barely Blue from lowe's and it is a mix between white and really light blue, looks like it could go either way but I am not sure about the blue tone. Any ideas or photos would be a great help! Thanks!

How about a blush color~white with just a *hint* of pink. Check out SW Rosily, Verbena, Diminutive Pink and Armour Pink. There's also the palest of greens called Queen Anne's Lace.

I'm not a pastel person, but these all caught my eye.

I vote for light, light green or perhaps light lilac? What is your little girls favorite color? You could do one wall of green, one of blue, one of purple, one of pink. Sounds like she has multiple interests!

Keep the decals! Cuz I like them LOL. I like the photo with the purple bedding and the pink rug. These are much richer and much easier to change out than painting the whole room, and she probably will want to change some things out as time goes by. This way, too, it will still be her familiar old room, yet it will be a big girl room. (Kinda makes you happy, kinda makes you want to cry doesn't it!)

I opted to paint my daughter's room a cream color that has pink undertones. It's a color that works with all of the colors in her room (light blue, barn red, butter yellow, and antique white) and I find her room very calming.

I've been tempted to go with the palest of blue for the walls, but her bedding will be blue (someday when I finally make the duvet) and I'm afraid it may be too much. Also, I really like how versatile the cream is.

We encountered the same thing when we did our daughter's "big girl" room last summer. She had just turned 3.

I can't show you a picture at the moment, as her bed is covered in clothes to be packed today for our beach trip,(yay!), but I would suggest finding a comforter/quilt set that you love and that she can grow with, then picking the paint color from there. I've found it to be MUCH easier to finding bedding before I paint. Then I take the pillow sham to the paint store and find a backdrop color, if you will.

My daughter's room is SW Enchant (a lilac/light purple color). Her bedding is a white quilt with pink/purple/yellow butterflies and flowers. I plan to keep her room as is for several years to come. She's happy with it as well (turning 4). We were able to add a princess table & chairs this past year to her room easily, b/c of the colors that were already in there. If her bedding was Dora, it wouldn't have worked so well, naturally! Unless we were going for a compete Disney Collection style of bedroom! LOL!

So now, back to my packing, instead of (happily) procrastinating here! Good luck and let us know how what you choose!
