New Andersen Picture Window cracked

We recently (August) installed two Andersen 400-series picture windows between existing casements. Today we noticed that one of them has a crack in the outer pane that runs from the lower right corner to about 1/3 of the way up the left side (so all the way across the window). There doesn't appear to be any impact point at all (sadly, the windows are quite dirty and there's no disturbance to the dust that can be seen so it appears nothing (i.e. bird) hit the window). It was very cold here last night (about 7F) and then warmed to 35F and very sunny during the day.

Any ideas on what caused the window to crack? I can't imagine that the change in temperature did it - there have certainly been more extreme temp fluctuations within several hours and none of our other windows (or the second picture window) have ever cracked.

The window was installed in August, however we have not finished the sheetrock (long remodel...). We have not put any nails other than the flange nails (the exterior siding has been attached over the flange). It seems quite sturdy with the bottom of the window frame resting on shims, which rest on the rough opening frame. Would this in any way lead to the problem? If so, we'd better get some nails in the other window ASAP!

Any insight at all would be appreciated. We are concerned that when we call Andersens they will blame the installation even though we followed the included instructions carefully. Thanks for any advice you may have!
