Number Of Wires In Box Calculation ???

I had read somewhere that you can use the following calculation to determine the number of wires allowed in an electrical box.

Calculation

Every wire counts as 2

All grounds count as 1

Appliance (switch, duplex,etc) count as 3

Example

A single pole wall switch mounted in a single gang 18 CU IN plastic box.

Black HOT Power In = 2

Neutral = 2

Black Feed to Light Out = 2

Neutral = 2

All grounds = 1

Switch = 3

TOTAL = 12 which is lower than the 18 Cu In

Question

What happens if you PIG TAIL the Black Hot In with 2 PIG TAILS off of it, does the number stay as 2 or does it increase to 6 ???

Thanks,

LouB
