saving original frames and trim during window installation

My 1911 Craftsman-style house in San Francisco has aluminum sliding windows which date from the 1970's. I would like to replace them with something more appropriate-looking, preferably wooden casements.

I have been told by installers for Loewen and Marvin wood windows that everything on both sides of the wall would have to be torn down to the studs to properly install their windows, but I would like to keep the original redwood frames and trim. (A building inspection report says that they are in fine condition, and a number of painting contractors tell me that the original wood is probably of a higher quality than what I would get with any new construction.)

Here are my questions:

Do anyone know of a brand of wooden casement window which would not require a complete tear-out for installation?

Aside from the Marvin TiltPac double-hungs, are there any other wooden windows, regardless of style, which would not require this complete tear-out?
