3-way, 3-Bulb Ceiling Fan Light.

I have a Ceiling Fan in our Kitchen, with (3)-60 Watt light bulb light kit; using a Pull Chain type Switch.

To save on power bill and and reduce light when not needed, I have an extra, 4 Wire, 3-way, Pull Chain type, 3 Speed Ceiling Fan Switch, Rated @ 6 Amp @ 125 Volt; I want to Install, so I can turn on (1)-Bulb, (2)-Bulbs, or (3)-Bulbs, as light intensity is needed, and of coures (All)-Off.

The Sequence of Operation on the Switch I have is: Pos. 1 = OFF, Pos. 2 = L-1, Pos. 3 = L-2, Pos. 4 = L-3.

I thought about installing a Diode from L-2 to L-1, and from L-3 to L-2, make this Circuit work, but I am not sure what Size or Type of Diode to use, or if this would work on A/C Current at all .

Thanks for any and all Advice.
