That front door is crying out for color, IMO. A nice dark green would look very nice with the black shutters and the landscaping. Of course, she may prefer a nice barn red, a bright yellow, or aubergine.

Fantastic job! I think I remember the 'befores', and the improvement is amazing.

It definitely looks a lot better with that arrangement, tho I'm curious as to how close the round table is to the front door. Personally, I wouldn't be excited about walking/looking into a mirror as I enter a home and I'd rather see the fireplace upon entering vs the kitchen chairs. But.......that's me! : )

Also, I really like the chandy in the sitting area but I see the problem if she puts one up in the DR. If those pot lights in the DR are controlled separately, I'd consider just removing the fan. Either way, she'll have to deal with the electrical box in the ceiling since it can't be covered with drywall.
Overall......big improvement over the original layout!

Did you try the screen on the other wall to create an entry on the "deeper" side of the room and allow a view back to the windows?

Great job! Love the new light. I'm visualizing the front door in an eggplant color. Good luck on the sale--I hope it happens soon for her.

Wow beautiful, Red and lots of red flowers will pull buyers in. Eggplant and purple could work too.

We did try the screen to the left side and it simply did nothing at dividing the space and looked odd. I too thought it should be there until we moved it.

Also, the round table is a good distace from the front door. If nothing else the table and mirrored partition do give the foyer a better feeling of seperation.

The pictures really just don't do it justice.

What are the neighboring door colors in her price point, not her immediate neighbors. Red appeals to some, as do other classic colors like black, navy & sage. I'd definitely want to see some colorful flowers by the door, perhaps more than a different color on the door. Hope she sells soon.

Some great changes. I really like the sitting area around the fireplace. The mirrored divider looks a bit odd to me (sort of a funhouse mirror effect - at least in the pics) but it wouldn't stop me from buying the house. Or talk me into it. I don't care for open floor plans so the the divider wouldn't "fool" me. Your friend just needs the right buyer to come along. And one will I'm sure!

Don't know if it works, but I have heard that a yellow door helps a house sell faster.

If she has side lights on her door, I would paint those the same color. Also, have her put some pretty red and black or yellow accents on her porch. I think it would make it very cheery and inviting

The mirror screen is her grandmothers piece. Its an antique. That sucker is heavy too!

Love the interior! To me the front door begs for an off-red deeper than Red. Like a brick-red, or cherry-red, apple-red, or bing-cherry red? (see how most of my colors are food related? LOL) cordovan?
I'm a big proponent of the old Southern thing about front doors being red is welcoming. Seems true to me.

wonderwhiskers... that is funny as she is us going for a brick red. I had used it before and it is a winner. More of a warm red than a cool blue red. We shall see how things go!!!

That looks fantastic! What a transformation from the original post. I love the drama of the round table, tall arrangement in the silver vase and the mirrored screen. That really stops the eye and creates that foyer feeling she wanted. Did she change the pictures on all her listing sites? She should.

what about putting the ceiling fan over the seating area instead of capping it off---??? it's dark colors would 'go' with the new chandy.

i think a dark green, eggplant or black door would look nice... i don't think i would choose red for that house.
