I'm personally addicted to growing trees. But, I have a place to plant many of them, and I know not everyone does. If you have the room to plant them or have a way to find them good homes, that's what I'd probably grow. Suppliers like Sheffield's and Schumaker make shopping for a wide variety of woody stuff pretty easy. If you don't want to have to stratify the seeds, just look for some that don't need pretreatment (there are quite a few). Right now, I have my eye on some seeds from Prairie Moon. They have a good selection of native / environmentally-beneficial plants (especially perennials and grasses). I guess really it's more about what you have a place to grow than what's the most fun to plant. Cause growing just about anything from seed is fun to watch! Wintersowing can be a fun way to grow many things. Some of the benefits are less indoor space needed and no extra electricity for indoor lighting. Of course, you can't always watch them as closely and you may not get as much of a jump on the growing season.

A Christmas ornament to remind them of football like a snowman in team colors. Fleece scarf in team colors. My 9 yo likes to hang keychains and stuff off of the zippers on his back pack. Maybe you could make something to hang off of a key ring. A cute goody bag that holds a microwave bag of popcorn, hot chocolate and anything else you can think of. I put things like glow sticks, bubbles, pencils, etc., in my birthday ones.

Since Pennsylvania has the largest per capita consumption of both pretzels and dried beef (the type sliced from dried and smoked beef round, not the sliced "flaked and formed" loaf type like Budding), I often make this dip when I have to take a football snack to represent the Philadelphia Eagles. BEEFY PRETZEL DIP 8 oz. cream cheese, softened to room temperature 3 Tbs. crumbled blue cheese 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 to 3 tsp. horseradish 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper 1/4 cup finely chopped dried beef 1 bag of pretzel sticks In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, blue cheese, Worcestershire sauce, 2 tsp. horseradish and pepper until smooth. Taste and add the additional teaspoon of horseradish, if needed. Stir in dried beef. Refrigerate until 30 minutes before the game; then remove to let dip come to room temperature. Serve with pretzel sticks for dipping. Makes about 1 cup Note: Recipe can be doubled. A 3-oz. package of dried beef yields approx. 1/2 cup + 2 Tbs. of chopped meat.

Hi june...I use a Nikon d40x with a 55-200 zoom...this game was a scrimmage set up for a local charity, just lucky it was an early game....next Tuesday our team will play in something called Hootens Kickoff Classic (a big deal for our little school)...also an early game...after that, I will be at the mercy of the lights. Shooting from the sidelines is much better for pics, but I didn't get into the game like I would have from the stands..thats a hard trade off :-) My daughter used to barrel race, gave that up to perform with the Rodeo of the Ozarks Rounders....a drill team that performs at local rodeos and promotes the Rodeo of the Ozarks..she really enjoys being a part of that orginization. I have my camera with me most of the time...I have taken some really weird pics....like last night a frog was in the window of my shop eating bugs...so he got his picture made....I have several pics of this little bird, begging for attention, while sitting proudly atop a pile of horse apples...its a stupid subject, but a funny picture!! So I agree with you...it is really fun!!
