Comments (8)other than a alignment problem, sounds like to me when the grease gets alittle thick (includes the rollers in the tracks, they resist more when it cold also IMO)it don't have enough HP. What is the HP rating? Does it make different sounds when it stops? does it throw the circuit breaker or does it just stop??. It also maybe pulling too much amps and the overload system maybe shutting down. Do you have to push a reset buttom when it stops ro get it going again? sounds like you need to get out the multi-meter and check the amps see if it's within spec's for starters, If that's not it I would inspect the rollers see if you can find couple dragging pulling the HP down and the amps up. report back with the findings, there maybe electrical engineer lurking here??...See MoreHow to get garage freezer to work in cold weather
Comments (4)Thank you for the suggestions. After some more research, I decided to go ahead and order the Chillerator. The light bulbs, electrical tape and other ideas sound like more than I want to do and are not guaranteed to work. I appreciate the advice and will post back on how the Chillerator works out....See MoreHow to keep freezer in garage cooler during summer
Comments (5)In a chest type freezer the evaporator coils (cooling coils) are right under the interior lining of the food cavity then there is a thick insulation layer and the condenser coils are wrapped around the outside of the insulation immediately under the exterior sheet metal skin of the freezer. The condenser coils are tight against the exterior skin and the skin acts as a heat sink to help dissipate the excess heat energy to the outside air surrounding the freezer. The heat your feeling is normal operation....See MoreGarage door sticks when I close it in cold weather
Comments (9)No, I still haven't figured it out. A local garage door company told me to clean my optical sensors, which didn't solve the problem. I didn't try randy427's suggestion because I'm just not familiar with the door, nor confident enough, to try. The problem has actually gotten worse since I originally posted. I may try to play with it a little more, but I'm getting close to just having a new motor and hardware installed(that seems more cost effective than paying, say, 60% of the cost of a new one to have the old one repaired)....See MoreMattTheApplianceGuy
