Whoe home audio system using ibridge or computer as source

Does anyone here have a whole home audio system with keypads? E.G. Using a Russound (e.g. CAV) whole home audio system where one of the sources is your computer or ipod?

The way I understand it, that one way to listen to ipod music is using an ibridge ($350) to play/control music from keypads in different rooms.

Another way it to just use your computer as a source and use a specific type of software to manage the music (similar to itunes, but better), which can be controlled by the keypads in various rooms. Such sofware might be J. River Media Center (http://www.jrmediacenter.com/download.html).

Anybody have any thoughts on this, pros and cons to each system, etc.?

Thanks!
