Does anyone have a nice aqua paint color?

I've been looking for an aqua paint color to put perhaps in the bedroom or possibly in the livingroom. I like the color for the clean, crisp, refreshing feeling it gives me. That said I know the color can come across VERY strong and almost childish (for lack of a better word). I've been looking but haven't come across anything that seems like something I could live with.

Have you ever seen aqua done right and know what the color name was?

Have you considered Ellen Kennon's full spectrum Aqua? Its a full spectrum version of Olympic's Blue Shamrock.

Linnea, that white is horrible in your very rich and wonderful kitchen. Honey...once you go to the dark side, you'll never return my young Jedi friend...oh wait that was another life. Umm where was I? Dark trim. This is a mix of half black and half dark chocolate brown...we have it EVERYWHERE in our home...it's fabulous with rich copper reds, burgundy's, greens, yellow, pumpkin...any rich earth color rocks with this trim color. I will never (ok maybe not never, but not soon) do light trim again :) Don't focus on what's in this room, just focus on the fact that it's mostly a green base color with accents of green: Window trim and paneled wall are both dark with amber gold walls Bad pic, but copper colored walls, leaning towards that red tone in your counters, with the same trim color: Hopefully it will help you think about shifting to the dark side...believe me...we have better parties at Darth's house than we ever did with that boring old Luke :oP

Does anyone have anything nice to say about Japanese honeysuckle?

Like most invasive species, it's all a matter of location, location, location!! Japanese honeysuckle is not an invasive species in the PNW (which shares a climate like much of the UK) and is commonly sold and grown, particularly L.j. 'Halliana' and L. j. 'Purpurea', which has a purple tint to the foliage and bicolored flowers. They have a wonderful fragrance when in bloom, especially in the evening, and attract hummingbirds. They also seem to attract aphids more than most other types of vining honeysuckle, which is not a plus :-) Considering the assortment of wonderful vining honeysuckles available that are NOT considered invasive, I see no reason to keep one in any area where this species IS considered invasive.

Benjamin Moore color capture says it might be Squire Hill Buff 1068 or Sepia Tan 1116. Might look at those and test them in your space.

Someone did a beach house reveal here in the past year, but my searching did not come up with it. She had gorgeous colors in that spectrum. Maybe someone else who clipped her post will know which one I mean. I am sure it is in several inspiration albums!

Dianalo, our home is on a lake with it's own sandy beach. I think the aqua just "feels" right for the atmosphere here for us.

I appreciate others posting pics. It's so hard though to get the true color on a computer as I'm sure you all know. I don't know if I'm the only one, but I get a picture of a color I want in my head, but can't seem to exactly replicate it. I dont' want it so strong it jumps out at me, but I don't want it so soft it look like it belongs in a nursery.

Picking paint colors is my single worst decorating handicap!

my sunroom is a soft though sorta muddy aqua. It is BM quiet moments. It pretty but not sure it is a transparent true aqua but it does not look like a child's bedroom color, more of a living room or master BR color, but not sure it is what you are looking for. We're using BM Opal Essence & Blue Seafoam. It's hard to photograph them though!

There are some great suggestions for aqua/turquoise on the link below.

I agree with you that the color can come across as "nursery" but I think how you accessorize puts you back into the adult world.

I forgot to mention that the Opal Essence definitely has a more aqua hue. There are moments in the day when I feel like I'm submerged in a pool. It's 5:40p central and our family room looks decidedly aquamarinish.

Another vote for Quiet Moments, if a subtle color is what you're looking for. We have it in a couple of different spaces in our beach house. It's one of my favorite colors!

I don't remember the name of this color, other than it is Behr paint. But I painted it 16 years ago and am redecorating that room, but still want to keep the color. I just love being in that room!

We painted our master bedroom "Reflecting Pool" by Sherwin Williams (white ceiling, trim, and doors) and I absolutely adore it.

During the winter, we have a duvet with a comforter in it from Bed Bath and Beyond (the pattern is called Daintree). Its an off-white with browns and taupe and birds (has the blue and orange and a little green it it). I use dark and milky browns as accents and my bedside lamp has an orange base.

By some miracle, I found a lightweight quilt at HomeGoods that also includes the teal color as well as some hot pink and green. So that is the spring/summer look.
