I like it! You can touch up the paint with a small paintbrush, or I've even used a q-tip.

This is a Moen ORB faucet I got at Lowe's. It was not cheap, I think it was around $150 at the time, but the finish has held up extremely well for about 4 years now. I use this sink all the time.

It's really hard to get a perfectly straight painting line in the corner where the wall meets the ceiling.Here's a painting tip I read a long time ago and it really works.

Use tape to mask a straight line on the ceiling just near the corner where the ceiling meets the wall. No tape on the wall or trying to tape exactly in the corner. Then paint the wall and the section of the ceiling just before the tape. It looks great. Won't work if you have a textured ceiling though.

the wood trim doesn't stand out near as much as it did before - just blends right in. the tree shower curtain also looks great with the window there and the framed birds.

the counter top looks great too - what a savings not to have to change it out.

I just hate those 'bulb' light fixtures! they just glare at you - and hurt my eyes! i have them in both bathrooms and they are going asap!

Looks great! For touch ups I used my DD's watercolor paint brush. Next time I paint a room I'm going to try one of the techniques I've read here which is to use either the blue or frog tape and paint over it with either the trim color or put clear caulking over it; then paint the walls. I always end up having to do lots of touchups and my hand is not steady enough to free hand it like some here do.

desertsteph, in my living room (another thread) I used Eddie Bauer "Butternut" and it also makes the wood trim disappear into the wall. That is one of the reasons I used those colors! I think they are great colors to update the 80's feel of the house. We have oak cabinets in the kitchen, bathrooms and all the windows. With the magic of paint, I don't mind it so much. Plus, we are on a real low budget. So it's good to be able to show others what can be done for less money. We pretty much shop at Lowes and Home Depot for now.

Your updates look great! Don't worry about the paint job as it's easily fixed. My Sherwin-Williams rep gave me a quick lesson in "cutting In". The secret is to dip your paint brush into the paint and then scrape the paint off of just one side. With the paint side on the wall and the non-paint side toward the ceiling, carefully drag your brush along wall where it abuts the ceiling line and you'll have a perfect edge. Works like a charm every time!

Awesomeness! We (Hubby) chose a very similar colour for our living room and now I think we'll use it in the bathrooms, too. Our cupboards are 80s, also, but we only have oak trim on white melamine. *Shudder* I love how your lights, handles and shower curtain come together. Where did the shower curtain come from? I'd like to try it in our main bathroom, too.

I got the shower curtain at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I actually found it at Target online but the store didn't have them in stock. Google "tree shower curtain" and it should come up. They had it in black or brown tree and also a dark background with a white tree. They are also on eBay but I couldn't wait for shipping. Plus I wanted to see and feel it in person. Be careful - some of them look like fabric shower curtains online but they are vinyl. The one I got at BB&B is fabric and I got a clear liner to go with it.

Love your wall color! It's a different room now! The addition of an ORB faucet will look great, & a cute ORB towel ring on a stand near the faucet would be a nice accessory...they have really nice ones at Marshall's & TJMaxx. A hand towel on the ring with the brown & gold tones in the room would be beautiful!
