The best deals on CL are thing that are things that are FREE! You can't go wrong with free if you need the item. Today someone is offering *a 24' above ground round pool with filter. Free You can have the deck too if you remove.* It is located in one of the really nice suburbs and has been maintained well.

I see oodles of good deals on CL like the BR set above, but I just don't NEED the things. Today there is a GREAT deal on theater seats for $9 each. They are new ones not vintage, and look like perfect condition. Sure if you are starting your own religion and opening a store front church they would be great. Or open an small, art movie house, or a matchbook school! Unfortunately I cannot partake in this great deal.

This is listed under 'antiques' and when I saw the heading
"Oak Bidet, Towel Arch Intact - $1000", I HAD to see a bidet with a towel bar!! And a pricey one at that. Well, these generally go for anywhere from $75 - $150 in our area if they are in GREAT shape, but no one else calls them bidets!

The same seller is advertising a hope chest that doesn't look to be in all that great condition. "1940s cedar hope chest. Excellent shape. Led to a 53 year Till death do us part marriage. Still has diploma, wedding dress, napkins, keepsakes, inside not included. $1000 OBRO." It would go for around $40....

I may be alone in this, but I think the sofa for $250 has such potential! I see it in either an english country room or one that is done in white with pink accents scattered sparingly around with this baby center stage!

If only I had the room or knew someone with the same vision. Would be great reupholstered if the pink was too Pepto.

This item looks to be truly one of a kind and unique. I've never seen anything like it. They say it is stamped 1951. The guy claims he is selling it for a friend. He probably does not want to admit to ownership. LOL. I would not want a lamp like this in my home. Only $50.

This is not the best of the day, but it is an example of prices around here. Its a 3/4 spindle bed (they still make these mattresses). Its nice, but no bargain.

$1200 for a Frederick Weinberg lamp. People can look on 1stdibs and see what they are asking retail for such in NYC and LA and believe they should get the same price.

I don't know much about mid-century lamps of this caliber, but I know that I have seen the pair of lamps in my living room on 1stDibs for $5000, and I paid $65 for one of them.

One of my time killing hobbies is to look at 1stdibs and then check out CL. Lamps are the hardest thing to figure out. They (1stdibs) charge an arm and a leg for mid-century, Stiffel lamps. I find what appear to be the same types (era, finish and condition) going for $35-$50, instead of $1,000-$1,500.

Is there a future in stockpiling Stiffels? :) DM had a house full.
