Show me your traditional neutral (beige/tan) sofas

I am in search of the "perfect neutral" sofa that I can change accessories with in the future. Don't we all! I currently want to accesorize with reds, greens, and golds, but want the option to change out in a few years. I thought I wanted green and posted a few weeks ago for green sofa pictures. Don't think that is going to work out. Green actually looks best with my flooring, but I'm just not sure I want to live with green for many years. What really changed my mind is I have moss/sagy green drapes in my DR. I actually took them down and "covered" my old love seat and sofa with them and was not happy with the look. I know there are many posters on here with beautiful, neutral sofas that seem to work with many different color directions.

This is a major purchase for me so I want to get it right. I have unstained red oak flooring which takes on a slightly "orange" look, so I need to work with that. "Gray beige" or mushroom colors do not look good with my floors. I think I am looking for a true, medium tan with a slight gold look if that makes sense.

Please, please share pictures of your neutral sofas so I will have some inspiration!

How much do you want to spend? Haverty's had quite a few. I saw them at Haverty's when I was buying new sofas for my living room. You can also check them out online.

Here is my tan sofa from Lee Industries. My accessories are red, green and gold - this is an old picture so you can't see everything. I did a lot of research before I bought and I am very happy with my furniture from Lee Industries. My floors are brazilian walnut and my walls are BM Lenox tan

We used "Gaucho Green" from Lowe's American Traditions. (Mr. Embees called it "Oscar Grouch-o"). Sorry about the picture quality - it was during the remodel, and I don't have a better/newer one online yet. It's the darker of the two greens. Color is pretty true on my monitor, though it does vary depending on daylight vs. artifical light slightly. (Slightly brighter/yellow toned with the northern daylight, more rich/brown influenced by night.)

There's a couple of rooms above that I would consider neutral. Ice's house looks neutral to me, Annette's MIL living room looks neutral to me. Some I can't tell due to the lighting, others are not what I would consider neutral. Like Roseabbey, black, white, grey and earth tones are what I call neutrals. Me, I adore neutrals and monochromatic color schemes. Except for one of my guest bedrooms that I'm doing in reds and whites, everything else in our vacation home is being done in very neutral tones. Here's a pic of my living area that I took a few months ago. Things have been moved around since but the colors are the same.

Lounge chair and ottoman that I designed, based on a sofa design from my boss. Shown here with gray silk mohair velvet upholstery in our warehouse. I made a full scale cardboard model of this chair before it was fabricated, so that the fabricators would know exactly how to make the curves. I also drew it in Autocad, but that was not enough for the fabricators.

jyyanks, I love your sofa and I love the floors and wall color. What finish is on your walls (i.e., matt or eggshell, or pearl or satin?) and what finish is on your trim since it looks so rich and beautiful?

jyyanks, I love the style of your sofa and color, but I think I want something a little darker tan. THat is also the color direction I am looking at going in for the time being to coordinate with my DR and Kitchen. It also looks like a good color to switch out a few accessories and go into another "new look" in the future.

Kiko, I have been looking at Clayton Marcus, Temple, and Smith Brothers (a very good quality, reasonably priced, not well advertised). With these brands I can get a sofa and LS for around $3,000 - $3,500. I will look at Lee also. I have found a few fabrics that I like which are almost too golden tan, many have a red thread woven into them, which I like but could limit me in the future.

I have learned my lesson over the years (finally) about limiting myself to certain colors!

Anyone else have suggestions/inspiration pics??

Lynn - thanks for the compliment. My wall color is BM Lenox Tan matte and my trim is eggshell - I don't remember what color it is but I have it throughout the house. Thank you so much!
