I'm glad to hear your pineapple is doing well. I was really thrilled when mine grew a baby pineapple. It took me about 5 years to get that baby, but I didn't grow it under the best conditions. Since you are growing it under lights, you may get a flower spike in two or three years. You can remove unsightly leaves at any time. They produce a lot of them and they get longer as the plant grows. My pineapple grew to more than three feet in diameter and had very painful barbs on its leaves. You will probably never know what caused your problem. I was thinking of drift from Roundup, which my neighbors use in early fall to kill poison ivy. I highly doubt that onion or garlic would hurt a pineapple.

Thanks for asking, ellendi. I don't design spaces in a vacuum. I'm sure that katie111's condo has fixed items like flooring, cabinets, tile, stone & view all of which will have an effect on what colors to choose and what the inspiration might be. Of course the red sofa, that been selected, which could be in a red that leans towards blue, or in a red that leans toward orange. That will also effect the paint colors selected. I might consider pushing the envelop for the ski condo and adopt a red buffalo plaid concept. Maybe a dark linen color for the walls. Thank you all for all of your fantastic suggestions! I'm still gathering up the swatches and am hoping to get some paint on the wall by next weekend (fingers crossed!). saypoint - your advice is SPOT on (and it works for checking out the swatches too)! Thank You! Instead of putting the swatches next to each other (on a fairly bright green tinted primer wall), I separated them and put them on a white backdrop. It has made such a HUGE difference, and they look so different to me now! So far, the lead swatch is Soft Fern. When I had it next to brighter green swatches I wasn't crazy about it, and thought it was too gray - but when I looked at it by itself (and on a white backdrop) - I am Really loving it. Soft, subtle, yet still a lovely green. It could be - "the one!" I'll definitely keep you all posted. Thank you so much, again!! :)

I can only tell you what we have decided to go with, but we haven't installed yet. After much research, I have decided to go with solid Hickory in the kitchen. I was also going to run Marmoleum in the laundry room (glue down not click simply because of trap doors I have in that room and borders I wanted to do). I still would too, I think it comes in great colors, has a great feel, and extremely durable. Unfortunately it is open to the kitchen and leads immediately to the bath and I the colors I would do just wont transition so we decided to just run the same Hickory straight through. I am also going to use cork in my master bedroom, however it was not an option for us in the kitchen. After reading and research I really don't think that cork will hold up in a kitchen that will take as much abuse as mine. Vinyl was not an option for our kitchen as we are trying to stick with more natural material in our 1700's period home, however, my parents just put some down in their kitchen to deal with dog traffic and it does look good and has been taking the traffic of their over active lab very well with no scratches. I had considered stone, but after one winter with porcelain tile on our bathroom floor... it is like hitting solid frozen ice when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night...I think the rest of the house is going to have warm materials.
