Help me decide- painted furniture

I'm painting all of our bedroom furniture. Better/newer/different furniture isn't in the budget anytime soon, so I'm making do with what I've got. We have cream colored walls, beige carpet, and the quilt and curtain fabric looks like this:

The colors read more of a blue on my screen, but in person, there's definitely a green undertone. It's sort of a pale grayed down teal.

There are two tall chests of drawers on opposite walls, a pair of nightstands, and a wooden chair. There's also a small chest at the foot of the bed that's already painted white, and I'm not planning to do anything with it.

I've driven myself nuts over this, so please help me pick paint colors. This is what I've narrowed it down to, but I'm open to other suggestions:

Plan A: paint everything white (I think this is too much)

Plan B: paint the dressers white, the nighstands a color from one of those chips, and the chair a darker cream

Plan C: paint the dressers white, the nightstands cream, and the chair ______ color (blue? celery? teal?)

I'd really like to make the dressers white, so that they could be repurposed somewhere else in the house if/when they get replaced. I've thought about pros and cons of all of the choices, and now I'm just frozen. I don't neccesarily want everything all matchy-matchy, but I'm stuck with these pieces for a while, so they need to be versatile, but I don't want it to be boring.

I don't have a scientific reason for my opinion, but I'd paint the dressers and nightstands the cream color, and paint the chair the darker blue color (the blue that's next to the white in your picture). I wouldn't mix the white and the cream in different furniture pieces (as in Plan C).

I have some thoughts, but I'd love to see the furniture too. Can you attach pics of the pieces you will paint?

I am not an expert but except for the TV stand, everything seems as tho it is neutral and you could use the colors you prefer. The experts have an order in which you should begin your decor purchases and I'm sure they will help you. You can use color! Artwork, rug, pillows and throws in proper colors will brighten the somewhat dark tendency. Lamps will help. How nice to be able to pretty much start from scratch with accessories and art!

Yes, keep a look out for that pretty gray/silver wood tone end table(s) and certain glasstop or fretwork accents too/ coffee tables perhaps? Other wood/ironwork colors will work too, so your room looks as it has evolved over time ! You have a wide variety of tones and hues that will be very complimentary with your current cabinets and carpet and couches. I hope you enjoy expanding your room so that you and your husband feel so happy with it! What a great area you have to work with!!! :D

Thanks, everybody! I am leaning towards the blue. I don't generally take huge risks in my own personal style, which is why this decision has been so difficult. kmarissa03, there is one window with a transom. It's a big window, but the fact that it's facing east means there won't be a whole lot of natural light, especially in the evenings when we'll be entertaining guests. I will be relying on the chandelier for light, and I think it will cast aplenty. jck910, so glad to hear you're happy with your dark blue! Did you do anything to balance out the color or brighten up your dining room? K Laurence, you are absolutely right, and that's what I keep telling myself. Paint is the easiest, most inexpensive thing to replace, so I'm glad to know I don't have to live with it forever if it doesn't look right in my space. Luscious111, those colors are gorgeous and so beautifully rich! I'd love to see what you decide!

I like the idea of cream for the dressers, but how about black for the chair? I would help the greyish teal/blue pop, I think. Several times, someone has posted a pic of a room with blue, white, and touches of black that looked spectacular.

Of course, I agree that a picture would help. This could be a terrible suggestion for your space.

I would paint all but the chair in the cream color, then depending on the feel you want in the room, I'd paint the chair either Celery or Navy. I'm assuming that your chair has a cushion, if so, I'd find a nice soft stripe that has all three of the colors in it. Then I'd reupholster the cushion and have a pillow or two made out of the stripe to help tie the three colors together.

Here's one of the dressers:

The hardware is going to be replaced with something larger, in an antique pewter finish, and I'm adding a trim to the top edge. I'm pretty certain I'll be painting both of these white.

Here's one of the nightstands:

The chair isn't upholstered. It's just a plain wooden chair with turned legs.

Love the tables and the dressers will look great once they are painted to match and have new hardware. I would definitely go dark with the chair-black or navy.
