I used it everywhere. No problems at all with it holding up. The application was a breeze too.

I am curious about this, too. How many years (months?) has it been since you painted, Dilly?

We have had RH SS in our living room and hallway for the last 6 years. I love the RH paint for its durability--it does not come off when scrubbed! We get a lot of traffic from my teen-age son and his posse. Hordes of 17 year old boys!

I had in in my last home in one of our rooms for over 8 yrs and I have used it frequently in our new home. The color does not fade out and the durability is great.

I have heard that RH Silver Sage is the same as BM Gray Wisp. Is that true?

I don't know if it's still the case but when I was using RH paint 5 - 10 years ago, it was all made for them by BM.

I used their paint everywhere (kitchen, laundry room, two bathrooms, and den) and it has really held up. Some of this is at least 10 years old - likely even longer.

I have used it in 2 rooms, but it's only been up for a few months so I can't comment on durability, fading, etc. I will say that both rooms are beautiful. I have Butter in my LR, between a sunroom with Farrow and Ball Orangery and a hallway with a lovely Donald Kaufman blue. I was advised not to put the RH paint adjacent to the full-spectrum paints, but it really holds its own - looks very rich and complex. I have RH Cappuccino in a bathroom and it's great - my only regret was that I used the low-gloss finish (instead of the flat finish). It wasn't really necessary.

Cyn, I think it has been around 10 years. It was whenever RH put their first store in my state. I walked in the store at the mall and instantly fell in love with the Silver Sage on the walls of the store. I had never even visited a decorating board website at that time so I did not learn about it here. I love their color palate and did every room in my house with RH except for one room that I wanted in a gray or charcoal. RH did not have their *Flint* line out yet at that time. I should have waited! :)

I found RH paints to be one coat coverage. Great! If I ever have to repaint my ceilings white again I'm going with RH The Right White instead of that crappy "ceiling paint" I bought at the hardware store when I did it.

One thing to keep in mind is that RH has a limited selection of colors. I think this is great because most of the "work" has been done for you with them narrowing down the choices to only what would be most popular. But............they don't keep all the colors around forever. Right now I have to repaint my whole bathroom. I changed out the lighting fixtures around the mirror and the new ones have a much smaller plate. I can't just do a touch up because they no longer sell the color. I'm really bumming because I have to pick a new color and the one I have on the walls now is perfect. It's kind of like finding out your favortie lipstick color or foundation has been discontinued and you have to start the search all over.

Thanks, Dilly-exactly what I wanted to know. I was also considering Silver Sage for a bedroom, but want to check out all the colors-looking for a green with some blue and grey in it (isn't everyone?). I'm sorry that they don't make your paint anymore-I know exactly how you feel. Once you find perfect, hard to face the fact that you need to start looking all over again! Thanks again to you and everyone.

Oh, and another thing too...........Don't take too long deciding on a color once you bring the RH paint chip or RH paint can sampler home. I wavered on a color too long and then when I went to the store to buy gallons of it, I found it had been discontinued. Strike while the iron is hot. They have a core base of paint colors they keep around for a long time. (And even those may be discontinued when sales start to lag due to the colors looking "dated".) They also have 'seasonal' or 'fashion trend' colors they change frequently so that their line of paints doesn't become stale.

RH Silver Sage Tip - when we painted it over an existing color without priming it white first, it pulled blue. When we painted it on white primed walls, it is the more sagey color. I know our painter (umm, my DH) thought I was crazy and tried to say it was a room lighting difference, but then he saw it happen with his own eyes. Don't know why this is so, but I know some earlier posters in some of the SS threads have complained about it pulling too blue. White primer first worked for us.

Well now, that would be a huge issue for me (if it looks more blue). The bedroom I am painting is small (~10x12) with one east-facing window and one south-facing window. Lots of trees outside, so light is less than one might expect when trees are leafed out. I will try to find the other threads on SS, but any input from anyone here (now that all the other questions have been addressed!) would be more than welcome as far as color leaning of the SS. Thanks!

Yvette, BM Grey Wisp is a match to RH Silver Sage. I used the BM color in my bedroom and bathroom. Just didn't want to deal with driving across town to buy my paint!

I used RH Cappuccino in my hallway and I love the paint. It has a nice finish(used the flat) and it covered very well. Did not drip at all and is holding up well against my 23 year old son! I had a BM dealer match Latte for my living room and it does not compare in richness. They also had a very hard time matching the color. I told them to use Crisp Khaki (BM) but he insisted he could get it pefect. He did not and I regret not using the true RH paint for Latte.
