It's hard to pick a favorite, but this one would be at tippy top) Francis Meilland(soft pure rose) Earth Angel(love it) Lady Ashe(different, strong and perfumy) La Reinne(strong damask type) Madame Isaac Pierre, Jubilee Celebration Poet's wife- continuous flowering and lemony scent Dee-Lish Beverly, sugar Moon, Zaide, First Crush(good scent, soft and rosy but its a thorny beast) Abraham Darby(so good, raspberries) PJPII Princess Charleen de monaco(vanilla rose) fragrant Plum(very strong and perfumy), Madame Anisette(I can't smell her much, smells of soft anise which is not my favorite scent on a flower. maybe in a cookie. don't like flowers smelling like cookies) But this plant is amazing for vigor and flower power. Rugosa alba roses, are a pain as they spread everywhere...but that scent is unforgettable

Thanks for looking and comments. I have put mulch from sack, it's name in Finnish is "Musta Multa" = "Black Mulch". It consist: peat, composed pine bark, sand and little clay. It is totally natural product and very good for hostas but unfortunately as well for weeds. This mulch don't have seeds or weeds but still there is weeds to pull up every third day. I try to pick them up before getting half inch high. Yes, I promise to put pictures here after I have got them from Jan. Maybe on Friday.

These are hilarious...and painfully familiar. For thirty years this how DH relays phone messages to me: DH: Your mother called. Me: What did she want. DH: Call her back. Me: Did she say for me to call her back. DH: No. Me: Well what DID she say? DH: I think she wants to know if we are going to be at the birthday party Sunday. Me: Well I assume you answered her question? DH: No, I didn't talk to her. Me: Well how do you know she was calling about the party? DH: I don't know, she left a message on the machine. Me: Oh, so you heard the message? DH: No, I'm just guessing that's why she called. And am I the ONLY one whose husband throws out what seems to be a random phrase and expects me to know wth he is talking about? DH at 2 pm: I wonder if we will hear from DS today. He said he might come over on Wednesday but I think he wants to get his washer fixed first. Me: Oh, ok. No further mention of DS until 9pm. Immediately following a conversation about the weather, DH: It will probably be Thursday. Me: What are you talking about? DH: DS! Me: What about DS? (I've forgotten all about the earlier comments) DH: He will probably get here on Thursday. Me: OMG, and you thought that when you mentioned something out of the blue about Thursday I would know what you were talking about? DH: I SAID, "DS probably won't get here till Thursday". Me: You did not. You just said, "It will probably be Thursday" as if I have ANY idea what you are babbling about. DH: I did say I was talking about DS. YOU are just getting forgetful. Me, half muttering: Someone just shoot me. DH: No, he's definitely not coming Tuesday, he said probably Wednesday.

in America, the best man acts on the groom's behalf on the wedding day. Since he's stuck in the receiving line after the ceremony, the best man is often asked to distribute envelopes w/ the groom's payments to the officiant, organist, anyone else the groom has prepared them for. The best man often drives the groom wherever he's going; the bride will have info on that. Lots of times the best man drives the groom to the church, and the groom leaves the church in the limo. If there's no limo, the best man may end up as chauffeur for the day; again, the bride will probably make those plans; take your instructions from her. The best man may need to work w/ the groom (and sometimes the bride) to plan how the couple will leave the reception. The bride may have arranged a car, or they may need a lift to their hotel, or back to the groom's home where his car is, etc. The biggest thing you need to do is to plan to be around the groom all weekend, paying attention to him, and what he has to do, etc. So you can say, "here, I'll stick your coat in the other room for you" and he can go on kissing aunts and teasing cousins. Or you can say, "you need some lunch--want me to get you a ham sandwich?" if he's distracted. Or you say, "sure, I'll go find the minister for you--wait right here." Basically, run his errands for him, because he's going to be really scattered, much in demand from other people, etc. Be a second set of hands (and maybe a second brain) for him whenever you can be. Don't let yourself get distracted by hanging out w/ the other friends of the groom, or indulging in a big food fest at the buffet (or drink fest at the bar). I think the likelihood that you'll be asked to give a toast is VERY VERY high; don't do something jokey and embarrassing (as is apparently the custom in England; in America the best man's toast is expected to be affectionate and TASTEFUL!) You may be asked to sign the marriage license; most states require at least one witness, sometimes two, to sign the license (the bride & groom sign, and the officiant signs). Ask the groom and bride whether they want you to do that.
