best online nursery to but lychee tree
Comments (1)The best nursery is Pine Island, link below. Their trees are very high quality and they ship very well. Lychees are one of the hardest plants to grow inside. They are extremely picky about the moisture level in the soil and the air. Emperor is by far the best for pots according to Pine Island folks but I think Sweet Cliff is also possible. Given how hard they are to grow I would not suggest starting with some other variety. I tried one Emperor but killed it. It was partly due to a major error on my part, I fried it when my greenhouse got a lot hotter than I had expected. Don't forget they need 100-200 chill hours per year as well, so you can't just keep them inside all winter. Comments (16)Will- The reviews are great. I really appreciate them. Are you familiar with Evergreen Nursery? I have placed several orders from them in the last year and have been wonderfully pleased. They don't have the largest selection, but they do have some uncommon species, and what they offer is top notch size, quality, and price. They have terrific service as well. Darren does all that he can to help, and does it in a very timely manner. You might want to check them out. Eliot P.S. I have no interest in Evergreen Nursery, I'm just one very satisfied customer. Same goes for Girard Nursery. I only live a couple of hours from them and hope to make it up to visit this year. I started buying from them about the same time as Evergreen. Can't wait to see your review for Girard's as well. Here is a link that might be useful: Evergreen Nursery...See MoreBest conifer nursery near Kansas City
Comments (13)Hey Dave, that is exciting about the new place (always fun to start over like that). I am sure you will create an awesome new garden too. I have been gardening with unusual conifers for a while and have established friendships and connections at the 3 best nurseries here. I even place orders for a couple of them (haha). I always like to stop by a good nursery or two wherever I go because they are so different. Many times I will pick up a miniature/small dwarf or 2 if they will fit in my bag...my wife always gives me a hard time about that...not sure if family tree does smaller stuff, but I am excited to check it out later this week. Thanks for the recommendation, and good luck with the eventual move!...See MoreBest Online Nursery For Roses
Comments (9)Mike, I have had very good success with the following online companies, randomly listed in no order of preference: Burlington Roses Chamblee's Roses Heirloom Roses High Country Roses Wayside Gardens White Flower Farm Here's another option you may consider. AMAZON has a few rose sources. Two that I have patronized are Hirt's and Stargazer Perennials. They both ship small liners at very reasonable prices. Don't look for an exhaustive selection, but if they have what you want, so what. The shipping charge is very reasonable. I use Amazon for single purchases generally, and have yet to pay more than $20.00, shipping included for a rose. Quality has been excellent, though small, and expertly packaged. When given a choice, I select the smallest plant available, usually a liner. They adjust quicker. In three years a liner size rose is equal to or even larger than a 2 gallon of the same variety planted next to it at the same time. Hirt's only charges $1.00 more for shipping for each additional rose on an order. I got some Julia Childs last spring from Hirt's that were A #1, and grew like weeds in the ground....See Morefairfield8619
