Does It Just Happen To Me??

Does anybody else start more than one project at a time and then manage to mess up one of them with the other???!

Had retrieved the neatest old light fixture from the curb. Had it sitting in a metal stand and planned on using it to feed my squirrels in the yard. Had it setting in the stand on my kitchen bar and was also working on taking old rusty tacks out of the back of a large picture frame. You guessed it - the frame "scooted" on the bar and knocked the light fixture off onto the tile floor in the kitchen! Glass went everywhere! Now I'm down to working on ONE project until I get it done!

This happen to anybody else, or is it just me? LOL

I'm joking here, but I really am so ticked off.

I've usually got no less than a dozen projects going at anyone time.
I have "oops" moments all the time. Last one was I was replacing a broken window pane on my enclosed porch. I had everything out. Glass fit nearly perfectly into the spot I wanted it to go into. Get ready to put on the glaze and the glass slips thru the pane and onto the floor. Broke into two. I had to run to the hardware store and get another piece cut.
My bigger problem is getting all the materials together for whatever project I want to do. Seems just about anything I want to do requires at lest three trips to the store to get all the proper materials together. It's not a matter of my forgetting or getting the wrong parts it's the availablity of things.Seems there really is no such thing as one stop shopping when doing crafts or treasures.

Nope, you're not alone. I have several things started & have NO room on my work tables. Always knocking something over & making messes. I get frustrated & just quit for awhile. Wonder why I can't get anything done. I have 3 work spaces & they are all full of almost done stuf.

Hi christinmk, I think I was one of the ones who sent and it ended up lost in the mail. It was around Christmas and I sent it in a Christmas card with bubble wrap. There were several of those Christmas card envies that didn't arrive. During that time of year, there are many newbies in the PO....filling in for the extra workload, so I would say that's probably the reason for the lost packages then. Can't say now, but our postal service has really gone down hill. I've been in a battle with our local postal station for almost a year now. I keep filing complaints and the local postal worker/manager/XXX I won't stoop that low...has yet to get back to me in the required 2 working days he's allowed. So I'll continue to file complaints...and one day our paths will cross...he may not like me then. If I take my time to take action, he needs to take time to resolve the issue. Not leave it up in the air. Anyway, don't take it personally and end trading due to our "wonderful postal service". Most folks on GW know how horrific the PO service can be in different areas. I do realize that some folks only have a small amount of seeds of any given trade, but when we rely on a third party, we take a chance. I'm with DF on the homemade deer repellant. Last year I moved hostas down to the bottom of the hill that is my backyard, and they were lovely at the base of two flowering trees ... until they were deer salad. I thought my honey had gone crazy with the weed whacker. :( This year I found some recipes online ... mostly what DF posted above, but I added some milk and use it at a higher concentration. I sprayed it every 3 days at the beginning of spring when the hostas started growing from an old windex bottle. I keep a gallon of it outside to get ripe in the sun. Now I'm down to spraying the hostas and my brand new garden this year (still down at the bottom of the yard) about once a week. I spray with Neem oil once a week, too. Don't know if that's helping or not, but we had deer in our backyard last week standing right next to the garden in the middle of the day (we were shocked to see them there from our window) and they didn't touch a thing. Rotten eggs, sour milk, hot peppers, and garlic apparently are not appetising to deer tastebuds. -Veronica

Does everyone hate front load washers/dryers or is it just me?

I currently work at Home Depot and we carry a large selection of washers/dryers. The Appliance Salesman told me that 20 yrs ago, everyone was buying front-load washers at about a ratio of 8:1 but now, 20 yrs later, people have gone back to top-load washers. He says that people buy top-load washers 8 times more than front-loads. The reasons are just what everyone says, the rubber damn in the front must be cleaned everyday, otherwise it will become musty & filled with mold and once the wash starts, you cannot simply open the door and throw in a tea-towel that was missed and there's no "water-level" button or load-size selector. Front-load washers royally suck and I'll never own another one.

Great idea! When I refreshed/organized the pantry about 2 years ago I devoted one top shelf for the plastic horde and made a firm commitment to only 3 sizes and all identical, so all the small fit inside each other, same with mediums and large, they all stack together in one spot, next to them is a lid holder that keeps all the plastic lids for them, not all that organized but they're all in the same place. My hub likes to save large yogurt containers to put leftovers he cooks in so those all stack on the other side and an automatic ice cube container holds those lids (couldn't find another lid holder like the other one so whatever, it works). If I had drawers I'd likely stack them in one but this kitchen didn't come with them and the man isn't in the way of remodelling the kitchen any time soon so I'll likely remain drawerless for the foreseeable future. ;)

Nah, never happens to me. I was working on a chandlier that was a recent curb find. First mistake, working outside on the patio table, second mistake, needed a screw driver to take lamp apart and started inside , bad mistake, as I opened the door to go inside a squirrel (probably one of the ones you were going to make a feeder for) jumped on the table and as he jumped off the entire glass fixture fell to the concrete. Don't need to tell you the rest of the story. Didn't need the screw driver then, after breaking all the glass, I ended up glueing violet glasses and using candles. It could not hurt more if I had paid real money for my find. In the end, I am quite happy with the results. Sometimes what seems to be a disaster turns into one of my most loved garden junk.

I've got so much stuff on my craft table on the porch that when the rats take a run thru it - they knock stuff off, nothing broken yet. Just a clatter in the middle of the night. I have a trap line set up now.

Craft? who can craft with all the junk everywhere? Right now I am trying to find room to paint some cans and jars - maybe if I move the paper-making supplies, the plants I don't anywhere else to put, the dehydrator, the pots from last year that I was going to paint etc. etc.. Anyone have to buy something because they can't find in the house!!?

Yep--I'm the master of disaster ..... there's always too many things going on at once . My problem is always losing things -- then when I look for them -- I start knocking stuff over left & right ~~

Oh, yes, it's soooo much easier just to buy something new than look all over for the 2 you already know you have . . . somewhere!!
