I use ge ii on the glass (tho I've heard lexel works too and dries clearer, I've not tested it personally.) For attaching the spoons I use AUTOMOTIVE goop, following the instructions. Except rather than applying it to both surfaces, I just apply a lot to the spoon, then I press it in place where I want it on the back of the plate. THEN I immediately pull the spoon away, leaving some goop on the plate. Cure separately for up to 10 min and press back together. This is much easier than putting it on both. btw, plumbers goop doesn't hold through the weather. I was not well one day last week and it was the day I should have done the spoons in order to let them cure for 2 days before selling. Then we had unexpected company anyway on Saturday. I still regret not making it to the fair as I think it would have been a good venue. But now my goal is to make 40 more if I can and sell them this fall. Kathy

It seems to be a dirty film of some kind. All the other glass pieces I've cleaned; sconces, vases, candy dishes, etc. cleaned up with just a soft scrub in ivory dish soap. But the candle sticks didn't. I don't want to etch the glass in any way by using a stiff scrubber, or use to harsh a chemical. So - Help!!!

I went looking for this post in the wee hours this morning and thought it had been removed. Twice I scanned and didn't see it. Guess I shouldn't be on the computer when both eyes are at half mast. Now here it is right up at top -- Thank you! I spent hours yesterday visiting little stores in my area --- two Dollar stores, two Goodwills, three 99 cent stores....I'm one of those who gets an idea in my widdo brain and just can't let go. Correct size cups is this week's widdo brain obsession. lol And you've all given me options I hadn't even considered and sites I had never heard of/visited yet, and even a way to make my own wire holders ------ Thank you! I have a similar system as hockeymom and lisa . . . I bought pegboard and the uprights separately. The only thing I don't like is that the uprights ar little sharp on the edges and I occasionally scrape a knuckle. Next kitchen I'll track down the dowels or go for the Ikea lifters, which I think are neat. My drawer is a 36" pots and pans drawer and it works great. I do, however, keep my glassware in an upper cabinet.
