Somebody Stopppp Me! (photo)

Told my friend awhile ago that she should have gone to garage sales with me this morning to provide a "voice of reason"! (Yeah, right! LOL) Just kept looking at these and looking at these and then finally walked over and paid one whole dollar for the two of them.

Do you know what these are? (Besides the obvious, of course.)

Bookends, of course! LOL

TOLD you I needed stopped! LOL

I'm puzzled. There is something great about them though. Do you think they belong to the hulk? Maybe they could rise out of a pot of flowers on your porch on halloween!

Why the puzzlement? Hey, you've got a great idea. They'd look neat coming up out of a pot at Halloween. I'm gross, I guess. I wasn't thinking flowers. I was thinking a witch's caldron with dry ice, smoke, etc.! LOL

They are Incredible Hulk fists. They have a small rod of a thing inside them for kids to hold onto to keep them on their hands.

Hi Plantaholic Doesn't look like anybody wants to talk to you on this one. How do I find your photo of Aechmea 'yellow brazil'. I'm going to take a stab in the dark for you with the hint you've given ie: leptantha. A big yellow Aechmea you're looking at could be Ae. blanchetiana, another possibility with the hint you have given is Aechmea eurycorymbus, this is a large grey/green plant with a magnificent golden/red/orange, branched spike to 2.5mtr tall (7-8ft), this plant doesn't like as much sun as Ae. blanchetiana who is a full sun loving plant & comes in red,orange,golden & green leaf forms. The Houston Expo is a convention for Decorative Painters. They have classes in acrylic, oils, watercolor, etc. Then on Thursday - Saturday they open up the big ballroom where you can shop from so many vendors. The vendors of course, sell everything related to painting, brushes, books, painting packets, wood, etc. It runs 21-25 July. I have never been to Houston but I have been to the National Conventions and to the Heart of Ohio (HOOT) convention. They also have one in Las Vegas in February, some in the Northeast - I am not sure about the ones on the west coast. At the convention the classes being taught are usually by nationally known teachers. I am taking a class with the Society of Decorative Painters President (oil class of a calla lily) and a few acrylic. One with Peggy Harris where we will be painting a goldfish and I hope to learn how to use Jo Sonja's Magic Mix in this class. Anyway, there are 5 of us going, we share expenses (not all in one room). I doubt I will be able to get my tote done before going. I seem to be baby sitting a lot these days. But I told the kids I would love to see the grandchildren but they will have to come with them and stay - and I am doing nothing else for the next several days so I can get packed and the house cleaned before I go. If you have "MicroSoft Office" installed, look in the "all programs" menu to see if you can find a utiltiy called "photoed.exe". Run that utility and experiment with it. Warning: To preserve your orignial file, do not overwrite it. Do this: As soon as you bring a photo file into Photoed, save it under another name using the 'save as' commsnd. Now, you are free to 'mess' with the new-name file without touching the original. To lighten, increase the gamma. Experiment with photoed until you become familar with the feature that you wish to use. Photoed is a basic image editor, but is simple to operate and the things it does, it does well. It is missing a number of features found in other editors such as red eye removal and adding a title or text.

LOL I have to admit when I saw the - what looks like five small holes- in front, that they might be s/p shakers.

Oh, yeah - the great metropolis of Des Arc, Arkansas is where I used to hang my junk! LOL You must have Arkansas connections, yourself!?

The little holes at the bottom are the little speaker type holes. The hands make a "hulkin" sound, or at least ONE does! LOL

Those would complete my outfit!!! I believe in Safety First! so I have safety glasses(paid$1) and safety boots(paid .50)....The boots make some strange noise too!!! hee hee!
