Somebody stop me!!

Just kidding, I hate to waste paint and this clipboard needs to be finished so for the LAST TIME, I PROMISE, I will show you the front of the clip board. The pictures are not very good, I think I will have to start taking them outside for natural light. The leaves and the rosebud are the same color as the large rose.

Also, I was telling Ang that I paint everything so here is a photo of my palette knife and stylus. Now, would you believe I have yet to paint my painters tote? I better get busy and try to do it before Sunday when I leave for the Houston Art Expo. If I remember to bring my camera I will take pictures to show yall when I get back.

I have been having the hardest time with my Internet Exployer. I think the problem is corrected now that I removed their new version #8.

That clipboard is just to die for! You really prettied it up nicely. I have never even thought about painting my stylus!LOL Love both of your tools, I'd be afraid I'd get stray paint on them!

So what is the Houston Expo! Is it just exhibits? Or will you be taking/teaching classes there? I'd love to hear all about it and see some pics too.

The Houston Expo is a convention for Decorative Painters. They have classes in acrylic, oils, watercolor, etc. Then on Thursday - Saturday they open up the big ballroom where you can shop from so many vendors. The vendors of course, sell everything related to painting, brushes, books, painting packets, wood, etc. It runs 21-25 July. I have never been to Houston but I have been to the National Conventions and to the Heart of Ohio (HOOT) convention. They also have one in Las Vegas in February, some in the Northeast - I am not sure about the ones on the west coast. At the convention the classes being taught are usually by nationally known teachers. I am taking a class with the Society of Decorative Painters President (oil class of a calla lily) and a few acrylic. One with Peggy Harris where we will be painting a goldfish and I hope to learn how to use Jo Sonja's Magic Mix in this class.

Anyway, there are 5 of us going, we share expenses (not all in one room).

I doubt I will be able to get my tote done before going. I seem to be baby sitting a lot these days. But I told the kids I would love to see the grandchildren but they will have to come with them and stay - and I am doing nothing else for the next several days so I can get packed and the house cleaned before I go.

Oh dear, oh dear. I thought my inability to "just look" on trips to the nursery was due to being newly inspired by all of you. Now I find it seems to be a chronic condition. How do I tell my DH that he and I may both need to take on second jobs to support my growing habit??? I bought mine at Walmart for around $17 around a month or so ago. That thing is worth its weight in gold. There was a bit of a learning curve for me - each weed requires a slightly different technique for the best results. My house is new construction and the ground is a heavy compacted clay. The builder elected to seed vs. sod. The weeds came up before the grass seedlings were very strong. I tried Weed-B-Gone but the results just aren't as immediately gratifying as yanking those suckers out of the ground with the Weed Hound! You're right that the entire tap root doesn't always come out. For this problem I come back and spot treat with Weed-B-Gone. This is quite easy to do because the Weed Hound leaves about a 1" diameter hole to squirt into! With the tap roots damaged and exposed the Weed-B-Gone easily gets in and kills the remaining tap root. Plus since I'm spot treating such a small localized area I use less weed killer and the new grass isn't affected.

If you are like many of us that have speed ovens, you may find that you will use the speed oven more than your larger oven, as Fori suggests. Like you there are only 2 of us, so when I do baked potatoes it is usually just two, does it not seem like a waste to preheat a large oven and then cook just 2 taters in it for 45-60 mins (Including preheat)???, when the taters are done in 14 mins, (Including preheat) in the speed oven. Likewise for meatloaves, stuffed bell peppers, You name it, we just don't find a lot that does not fit in our Elux speed oven. Reheating poultry , fish, and fries comes out much better than if you tried to nuke them, or even reheat them in a regular oven---I hear tell that convection ovens reheat these items pretty well, but I have no personal experience with same, alto since the Speed oven can be used just as a convection oven, I suppose I could try it, but as mentioned I like the way they come out speed cooked. With the exception of our induction cooktop, our speed oven is our most used cooking appliance. If Hubby is concerned about the price, you have 2 options! Option # 1. Put left hand around his neck, put right hand around the other side of his neck and slowly join your hands. Option # 2. Look at the Elux Icon Speed oven, more than likely you can save quite a bit of money on it compared to the Miele, alto folks do like their Miele Speed Ovens but I've had the Elux for more than 5 years now and except for a screw coming loose on the handle, it has been trouble free.
