The last picture in the first post is probably the best picture I can get of the wall with the misplaced sconces - the one that has to move is open hole, with blue tape to the left of it where it was supposed to be. The other is behind one of the chandy lights at this angle. Unfortunately, once I saw the room with furniture in it, I realized that a picture hanging b/t the sconces would also be obscured by the chandy (unless maybe you're sitting at the table). I'll try to stand at the foot of the table tomorrow and take another picture so you can see both sconce locations. I can't believe I never caught this on the plans! Question is not could I move the sconce, but should I? Since I compounded the builder's error by laying the floor in a pattern centered on the room, should I leave the sconces centered and move the chandy (whenever we repaint the ceilings - maybe a medallion would hide the current hole and we could move it now?), which would mean moving the table closer to the windows than it is to the china cabinet, and maybe even moving the small buffet server to b/t the windows since it is the same depth as the china cabinet? That would just make it harder to move around the table and pull out chairs, since the room is only 13 ft wide. Thank you for the compliments on my great-grandmother. Now we know where we all got our blue eyes from (except DD - she got some hazel combo from my blue and DH's green)!

You might be talking more about the spacing itself but... Don't hire a handyman...posterboard or newspaper is your friend! Measure and cut out all your sizes, use painters tape to move them around until you get them just how you want it. Mark your pencil hole right on the paper and hammer through. You can even push the nail through just enough to make a slight dent in the wall and then remove the paper to add the nail if you want. I make mock ups of everything. My walls would look like swiss cheese if I didn't!

I probably would stack the pictures to the left of the shower, because putting them both over the toilet kind of overloads that wall, and I think you'd like being able to see the pics from the sink and toilet. I might look for a train rack to put over the toilet to hold towels. It would fill the space and be handy for towels when needed. It looks like you could hang a wet towel on your shower handle, too, if anyone ever uses the shower?

To me, hanging curtains ABOVE the window frame means that you have three horizontal lines which are taxing to my eye -- you have the top of the window, the curtain rod and then the ceiling. I prefer my windows to be a unit and so hang my curtains on the window frame itself. Then I just have the window and the ceiling, eliminating that third horizontal line. I know hanging curtains high is in style right now but then so was extra long curtains that puddled on the floor (gathering pet hair and dust). Dare to be different!
