Need to vent

Hi,

Found this forum through iVillage and did some reading...it seems it might be a great place to vent a little and get some good advice. I'm the mother of a 14 dd, who i have been raising on my own since she was 1..he dad is not in the picture. Last year, i met the man i'm going to marry...literally (August 11 2007 :) ), and his dd, who is aged 10. She was raised by him since she was a little over a year. the mom is present, although has never been very consistent.

We've merged...my dd and i moving in with them. We've set a date to be married, and have started the planning.

I guess i've got a lot of frustrations and it's bringing me down quite a bit... it's totally got to do with my how my sd treats me, and how he reacts to everything. It's just very hard, and in reading a couple of the articles, they really hit home. The one about jealousy between sd, and smoms...stuff like that. The way he jumps when his EX is involved. Now we're dealing with the possibility of his ex taking my sd, one week out of two. My df is quite upset about the whole thing, more or less taking it as if he's failed to provide enough for his dd and that's why she wants to go to the moms. Honestly, all of this guilt and burder he carries around with him everyday is weighing very heavily on me, and on us...i mean we don't even have a love life, or a romantic life anymore and we're only just beginning. Sometimes i feel selfish like i'm expecting too much, but this is my home and i should feel secure there too...

last night was it though with the sd...her dad had to work a night shift so i was home with the girls. my sd had some stuff she had to get done, and needed to finish up some chores...anyways, the minute her dad left the house she completely didn't listen to me, even said i'm only doing what my dad told me to do. I laid down the law and told her you have no choice..you better do as i say. She lost points from the house rules, and her dad gave her heck at one point when he called in...

anyways, this morning i told her once again how upset i was last night and explained to her how it made me feel...anyways, i guess some words of encouragement or even 'ditto's would be helpful.
