there is an interesting post on the kitchen and bath forum regarding screen names and what they mean. How did you come up with yours? I realize that this is a stepfamily forum and maybe not the place. Anyone game?

Mine was pretty easy. I live in Michigan and I am a stepmom. No real creativity here.

My big peeve is when they ask for your phone or email & you decline; they give you dirty looks because they're usually younger & don't feel that it's a big deal handing your info out. Comcast automatically gives a name account like that from what I remember. Years ago; when I 1st came to GW I used SBA; then Spike made us all "join" & we rushed to figure out a unique user name. There have been times I couldn't get Roselvr- Ebay it was already taken; but managed to with both Comcast & Gmail. We lost the Capital letters a few years ago; pretty sure it was after iVillage bought it. It's the one thing that ticks me off. I wish they would have been able to fix it.

I had chimed into sugarbreak's thread in the Conversations area but I'll add mine here, too. I've been "starpooh" for 11 years. It started when we were looking for a distinctive email address for our family. So we took a family vote. My vote was for "tearose" because I love the smell of roses. DH and my then 8-year-old DS voted for "roadkill" because they're both jokesters. My youngest DS voted for "no_nap" because, as a 2 year old, that was his favorite phrase. So I suggested "starpooh", named after a gorgeous desktop wallpaper that I had found. After much discussion (and whining from Mr. "no-nap"), we decided that starpooh fit our family. When I first got an e-mail account I wanted my name to be part of a rose, since I'm a major rose nut. The only rosy word I could find was petaloid, which is a partially formed petal often found in the center of a rose bloom. I used the same name here on GW. Minnie, a rose hybridizer has a secretary named Gladys and he named a rose variety he bred after her, "Happy Butt" -- you should get one! HOW do I sign in with my current screen name!

I lost all my saved passwords after a malwarebytes and ccleaner binge yesterday. Now I can't get into gardenweb without my OLD username and password. The sign in page comes up with that combo. Why is it like that? Why isn't my sign in page with my current user name? I was not able to change it and went round and round at the houzz site and had to go to my email trash to get to gardenweb forums. What a pain!

"Lea" is just a variation of my first name, Carolee. The date August 8 is a significant one- it's the date my hubby and I started our business last year.

When I first started posting here, I wanted to use my real name, but someone else already had "Carolee." Then I used "ladylawyer" for a while, I thought it was kind of cute myself, but my husband's ex recognized me and had a fit over it. I changed it because I wanted to keep posting here but really didn't want her monitoring my every post.

I found out last night it isn't working - my SS's mom started screaming at my hubby last night when he dropped his son over some of the stuff I post here.

If there are people "lurking" on this site that don't want to hear my opinion on certain events in my life, then don't read my posts. What's so hard about that?
