the juniper with the blight.. or winter damage.. should probably go .... its not worth the effort ... there is a conifer forum.. not all evergreens are conifers... things are done differently with different types ... i suggest pix of individual plants.. to get proper IDs ... in the tree forum.. the conifer forum.. the shrub forum.. and as a last option the name that plant forum .... so you can learn about every individual one.. regardless.. simply maintain the mulch.. keep out the weeds. and enjoy.. as they are all mature plants.. they need ABSOLUTELY NOTHING .... i mean nothing... which is proved by the neglect for the last 6 years.. and how nice it looks i see a rhododendron flowering.. a barberry ... a pine .. a spruce ... most IDs are accomplished with a pic of the bark.. a leaf.. and cones or seed pods if any ... looks like you might have rabbit damage also.. if those are all juniper.. i would plan on getting on with life.. and putting something better in there... the hardest lesson for a new home owner to learn.. in the garden.. is to get rid of the prior owners problems. ... trust me... been there done that good luck ken

Hi there. I know I've been quite quiet this past while, but I just had to jump in to this thread. I found the following quote and link after doing a quick Google search. The quote is from another forum that asked the same question: "The official word on LCD cleaning in Apple manuals is to use a solution of diluted isopropyl alcohol, no more than a 50% solution. Usually the rubbing alcohol you buy at a drugstore that is either 90% or 98% pure but 98% is pretty hard to get (you don't need it anyway). I mix 1 part water and 1 part 90% isopropyl alcohol, which works out to... um.. something just under a 50% solution. Be absolutely sure to use a very VERY soft cloth. I use a piece of soft flannel. Do NOT use paper towels or anything more abrasive than an old worn out cotton Tshirt. Absolutely do NOT use windex or anything with ammonia in it, it can etch the screen surface and can cause the plastic to go cloudy. You don't want that to happen! BTW, there is a commercial cleaning solution called something like Klear-Screen, it's pretty expensive. It is merely a 50% solution of isopropyl alcohol and water. Our 1879 home is known by some in the area as the "Wolf House" after the family who lived here from 1959-1993. The original builder was a fellow named Peter Kaut, so "Kaut House" would be more appropriate, but nobody but us has ever heard that name. The only thing I don't like about naming a house after a builder is that it is easily mistaken for the current occupants' name. If I had a sign with "Kaut House - est. 1879", I imagine many people would think we were the Kaut family. One of my favorites is a beautiful, run-down 1843 home named "Simplicity House". Not sure where the name came from, but it has a nice ring and definately not mistakable for a family's surname. While we are discussing it, if your house does have a name, where & how do you display it?

Can you return it and get a smaller one? (I admit I think your fireplace wall is lovely and I personally wouldn't ruin it with a television. But I am a tiny minority who has lived without television for almost 30 years.) Is there another room in which to put it, or do you prefer to use this room for watching it?
