Can't believe it!

I wanted to spray the gloss sealer on my Jingle Thyme sign yesterday. Took it outside, got the can and started spraying. I was gloss white PAINT! Not gloss SEALER. OMG! I grabbed the sign, ran inside and started rubbing it off with a wet paper towel. Then got the alcohol and lightly rubbed a few of the worse places. Got most of it off, but now I need to redo some of the shading too. (Memo to self: read the whole label, not just one word.) Luvs

Oh crap!! Oh, I hate that so much for you! Kinda reminds me of the times (notice plural) that my 2 yr old painted over my projects last year! Remember??? Gosh, I hope you can get it fixed. That just bites. It was sooo darn cute too. Let us know how it turns out. I'm just so upset for you! ~Anj

Chris, NICE job!!! Can you take a pic of the whole tree? Anirbn, My mom fell and hurt herself badly after she got out from a week in the hospital, so I totally forgot too. My bad. It started getting lighter in coloring..It was loosing it's vivid green look because the temps have gotten so cold. But I stuck it in the house and it seems to be coloring up again/. I will take a pic tomorrow..) I have been trying to grow it Bonsai style since I don't need it to be big and take up room. So it's pretty small..

I realize it's a vague statement. I mean it has a more delicate look in an aesthetic sense. It's not a big heavy clumsy look. The actual feel is very solid with good workmanship. Does that make sense? Maybe a comparison would be, it looks like a ballet dancer as opposed to a country milkmaid (but they both have the strength to do what they do). By the burner issue, I mean, that I find it so much easier to wipe clean the spatter on a glass cooktop than oil and grease spatters on burner grates. I have had a beautiful viking gas cooktop in another house and I hated lifting and cleaning the heavy grates every time I used the cooktop. I didn't mean that the propane creates any issues or dirt. Please let me know what you think after seeing it.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Sherry yes , we are having very weird weather . Some days so hot and humid you can't breathe and then plunked right in the middle a day will be like an early April day temps wise . Last night was below 10 degrees Celsius so less than 50 degrees Fahrenheit. It is 12:12 p.m as I write this and today the temp is 69 degrees Fahrenheit . By Thursday it is supposed to be up in the 80's Fahrenheit then back down in the 70's . Something is very definitely not normal . Oh and we have had 1 decent rain event since the beginning of May here at my place . Prediction for rain starting Friday and ongoing up to next Friday . Bizarre On the upside I am moving several gardens so these temps are much appreciated at the moment . Just very very very weird .

Some times you have to decide what your time and stress is worth. I live 100km away from IKEA. DH lives in the city for work during the week and goes home to his unit pretty well right past IKEA. If I want IKEA stuff I order it online and ask DH to pick it up in his van and bring it home with him on the weekend. SisIL wanted a large mirror for Christmas or her birthday (on the 26th). The only suitable and affordable one I could find online was at IKEA. I tritried orderordering oone but stock levels were low and the site wouldn’t process the order. So I finally had the chance to personally go to the shop on the Monday before Christmas. I also had a number of other places to visit so I was getting stressed. I found the mirror, got a staffer to put it on a trolley for me (it was quite heavy and on a shelf over my head), paid for it, and realised there was no way I could get it into my car. I asked if it could be stored overnight until DH could collect it, but no dice. So I asked how much for delivery. It wasn’t cheap but I thought, “I am so over this and it’s worth every penny to lessen my stress in one hit“, so I happily paid up and didn’t fool around with it one bit more.

OMG luvs! so sorry for you! I have the worst habbit of useing the can tops to prop projects up on, and never putting the cap back on, I just know it will happen to me one day soon!
My two year old gs painted my dds car, and his shoes and the dog! didnt take him but two seconds, and it was spray paint!
hopefully you can save your sign, was soo cute!

Thanks for the sympathy! I think I can save it, just need to do some touch up painting where I rubbed pretty hard on it and took some of the shading and detail lines off. The background will look more like I speckeled it with tiny specks of white. One place sort of looks like the Milky Way in the background! I actually thought about spraying a bit more on and just saying it was a FOGGY night! LOL

Gosh Oddie, this is nothing compared to having the car, shoes and dog painted! OMG! Hope they were able to get all that off.
