Adult stepchild with problems

I am an adult stepdaughter. My stepmom married my father when I was 7. She had a two year old boy. My mother was not in the picture, she passed away when I was 4.

When they married I was a typical child with average to above average grades. I was very outgoing and active. My stepmom was the polar opposite of me.

Things changed so dramatically when they got married. I had a long list of rules and chores. My day consisted of waking up, cleaning up the breakfast mess, school, come home, laundry/vacumming/whatever that days chore was, dinner (which she cooked), clean up the lunch (yes, she stayed home) mess and the dinner mess, bed at 7:45. This was just the begininng when I was 7. Throughout this was yelling, screaming, and just general nastiness. And it got worse as she had more children with my father and the years went on. I took care of her kids because she would lock herself in her room. Now, she refuses to admit that even happened.

It was clear that she resented my very existence. My father tried in the begining but soon my stepmom started lying and twisting things to fit her story of how I was a spoiled, nasty child.

Needless to say, I have problems in adulthood from this. I fell into a deep depression and have literally no self esteem. I become involved in disastrous and dangerous relationships. Although I am a very sucessful business woman which I only credit to the fact I joined the military at 17 and found my 'real' family.

Anyway, over the past few years I have brought this up to my father and stepmom and all my stepmom will say is "I'm sorry, I know that I was wrong." What bothers me with this, is the absolute lightness and I feel fakeness of her apology. She doesn't state what she was wrong about and says it with a tone of "what more do you want of me?" She also still to this day, edits and twists stories to make herself a victim and everyone else the perp.

My father still doesn't get it. He can't understand why I don't want to visit them and how it emotionally tears me down when I do. I see their other children with nice clothes and nice rooms and absolute terrible behavior who also treat me like crap. Since childhood they mimicked what their mom did and talked down to me and say rude comments and love to bring up stories of how I was bullied as a child.

I can't take it anymore. I want nothing to do with them or their children.

Before just stopping taking my fathers calls and seeing him, I was wondering should I write him a letter. One side of my says to do it, but the other side says that you have tried so many times and he chooses to wear his blinders over hearing your child tell you about abuse.

Any suggestions?
