I used Vanilla Bean semi gloss throughout my interior trim and also for my closet walls. It's a Farrell-Calhoun color. I saw it in another house and loved it. It's a very creamy white that didn't seem to have pink or yellow undertones to me but felt very neutral. I prefer to not use a stark white for interior trim, it just appears more institutional to me. If you walked in my house you would say I have white trim, but put it next to a truer white and it becomes very creamy.

Is Farrell-calhoun the name of a BM color line or is it a paint brand?

I have not heard of it but would like to see an actual paint swatch of Vanilla bean.

We just painted most of our upstairs/living space walls and ceilings Super White (mixed up in BM Aura paint, matte finish). The doors and jambs, and windows/molding are stained, however, the base molding is painted Super White, Aura, but in a satin finish. We love it! it's a very pure, clean white, yets looks much warmer than our previous White 01 (also BM).

After much consideration, I am using BM Chantilly Lace 2121-70 on the trim and doors. It stays a nice, not overpowering, white in all lighting and against the wall colors. I studied the different "whites" in BM's Interior Style book to get an understanding of the different whites and their effect and to put a list together. In the hardware store, I narrowed it down to this color choice.

I narrowed it down to white dove or cloud nine through sample strips. I purchased a quart of each in Ben eggshell even though I plan to use Aura. I took a piece of wood and painted half with one color and half with the other color. I moved it around my house during the day on both sunny and cloudy days. I also checked how it looked at night. I thought the cloud nine looked better in my house.
I think the reason there are so many whites is because there is so much light variation between houses. I think style also plays a part.

We used white dove. SW paint matched to BM white dove color. I like it, though I'm struggling to find a matching wood blind color. Graber Snowflake is whiter and Swiss Coffee is close. I hate to cover up all our painted trim, but that's what's going to happen, we have to OM blinds.

In my house if it is white, it is White Dove. I use it in a lot of projects because it isn't too stark. It is a clean warm white, but still most definitely a white.

It is a good idea to first consider the rest of your colors....both wall and fabrics. If you tend to like muted color, a bright white will probably feel too bright, even garish. My preference in my home is for clear colors, so bright white looks clean and crisp. A toned white would just look dirty against my walls.

I also tend to be sensitive to the undertones in whites. I see all the colors they use to make them less white. So, I am always running toward a cleaner, brighter white to avoid the yellow, green and pink. :-)

I think it is great to use one white for the whole house if you can manage it. It just makes life easier and touch ups hassle-free.

Lots of designers seem to swear by White Dove, saying it goes with everything. Pirula (a poster here) uses F&B White Tie with all her F&B walls. (closest match is Valspar Thistle Seed) I am a Super White kinda girl. This house I used PPG Delicate White with one tiny drop of yellow.

As for whites matching white things around them, I think subtle differences go away over time. Just get as close as you can and remember that after the selection is made and the whatevers are installed, you'll probably never look so closely again. I always expect things like that to really bother me, and ultimately, they don't. YMMV

I have deep wall colors (grays, rusts, greens, mustards) and needed a white that had no undertones of pink or yellow. I unsuccessfully tried all the Aura Affinity whites, then wound up with BM Chamois White, which doesn't turn peachy against darker tones. I love it.
