I feel for you, my yard is small so not a lot of daylilies, but still I don't have time for anything (and I hardly ever weed lately), house cleaning and cooking is forgotten. Hope your mom gets better!
Lovely blooms! My favorite is the yellow, Angelus Curlicue, very pretty! My dark red NOID sure looks like yours, maybe we'll find an ID one day :)
Lilies are beautiful, I can't pick a favorite. Maybe Conca d'Or. Of these I only have Muscadet and it is done for the year, but looks like yours has just started.

Nat, I would love to know the name of that red NOID. I have had it for many years, mixed in with my perennials and it is such a good, faithful bloomer that I kinda ignored it until I 'got into' daylilies last year and gave it better care.
It sometimes is much darker than the photo, as the dark color is hard to capture. I got it at a local nursery whose labels are either absent or say something relevant like 'purple daylily', 'red daylily'...or the like. So Nat, I finally got some rain yesterday with a thunderstorm. I was so happy to not have to drag the hose around for 4 or 5 hours!
Jean, you are always just precious with your comments. It is such a joy to share with folks like you who are so appreciative! To answer your question, YES...the trumpet lily bulbs do grow larger and will produce little bulblets
alongside the main bulb which you can replant. This happens with most true lilies, and I find that the asiatics especially reproduce and form little 'colonies' of bulbs.
I had planted 3 bulbs of a certain asiatic lily last year and this year there were 10 separate lily plants of it!
I love the trumpets and the orientals because they are the fragrant ones and perfume my entire yard!

I am glad you both liked 'Angelus Curlicue' because when she opened yesterday I was thinking that it was a cute little thing and am so pleased with it.

My favorites are Angelus Curlicue & the noid red too, such perfect flowers. Love your lilies too. I'm sorry your mom is worse, Alzheimer's is such a horrific disease.

Beautiful photos and beautiful flowers. So sorry about your Mom getting worse I know it can be hard being a caregiver I went through the same thing with my Father in Law though he did not have Alzheimers's he had cancer and was unable in the end to even get out of bed.

One question about all your true lilies - are voles a problem in NH? I had to give up growing lilies and tulips thanks the little varmints and I miss them a lot. We're going to try using crushed oyster shells in the planting holes this fall and see if that works.

I just love that ANGELUS CURLICUE - the color is so bright and the form is gorgeous! Have to keep an eye out for that one.

You are so right about the red NOID, it is so dark and hard to photograph. Well, when I look at yours it seems that mine is the same, but I looked at my picture, maybe not? I wanted to compare it with Midnight Magic, but haven't yet.

Celeste, if I had to do all you do I would never get to taking and posting pictures. Probably never get my garden work done either. You sure do a fantastic job and that garden is just a stunner. Glad you could get to taking and posting the pictures as you always have so many pretties for us to see. You have so many really lovely lilies that are always a joy to see. Then of course the daylilies are the stars of the summer show. I really love ANGELUS CURLICUE. It is so pretty and my favorite.

Celeste, kudos to you. You are a truly amazing person to be able to keep up with everything in the garden and be a caregiver to your Mom and grandson. I am in total awe and wish I could accomplish even a small part of what you do. You always brighten my day when you post your beautiful garden pictures, so I want to tell you that I must join in with so many who say Angelus Curlicue is a favorite. Such lovely lilies - all of them. My favorite daylilies are Frank's Star of Bethlehem and Angelus Curlicue. I'm sorry to hear your mother is getting worse. That's got to be stressful. Don't worry about keeping up with your photos. Just download them, and you can work them later. I assure you. we'll be even hungrier for bloom photos in August and September.

Frank's Star of Bethlehem is just a beautiful bloom, and those Lilies, WOW, I just love the Orientals. You have some that are just wonderful. Sorry to hear about your mom, hope you are taking time to enjoy your gardens.
I have a few of the lilies, and just adore them, the fragrance alone is worth it.

Luv them all Celeste especially Rosalini. Soooo partial to pinks and purples, especially purples in anything. lol!! All your shots look so pretty. I too am sorry to hear about mom. You know we have a pharmacy and we see it first hand with several of our patients. Its sooo sad to see and i'm sure sooo hard and sad to deal with and trying to do the right thing. My grandmother in law had it before she passed and the best thing we did was just agree with whatever she said and go along with it as best as possible. Many, Many thanks for your encouraging words about both my Mom and the lilies. To those of you who like 'Angelus Curlicue' I bought her from Robin Calderon of Earlybird Daylilies this past spring. Robin sends amazing clumps! Her daylilies are also very inexpensive (I don't know how she can make any money!). I highly recommend her as an inexpensive source for daylilies and you will get very generous clumps. She is also very nice.
kitcatclub...yes, I do have voles in my gardens and have lost many lily bulbs over the years. I haven't lost many lately since Fat Cat Nemo and Lily have been patrolling the gardens. I do lose a few each year it seems. Do you have those horrible red lily beetles in NY? They are destroying my lilies and I can't spray because I have so many bees and butterflies about.

I really appreciate ALL of you here on the forum, for your friendship and all the sharing. I am so glad I found this place.

I haven't seen those lily beetles but there is an alert for them on our Cooperative's website. We do have box elder beetles by the thousands and while they're perfectly harmless, the young ones look a bit like the lily beetles - gave me a bit of a shock when I spotted one on a lily and thought we had the scourge! LOL!

I may try again next year. We have a beautiful cat that wandered in a few months ago and now lives with us and I've noticed we don't have as many rodent holes as usual. We still haven't come up with a name for her!
