VOTE!! Pic included! About To Purchase this bedroom..
Comments (29)First, your bedroom is just beautiful. Love the paint and white trim. I think whatever you choose will look great. I have to say that I would vote for Lexington furniture. We have a Lexington antique oak bedroom suite that is almost 30 yrs old and it still looks fabulous. I did switch out the original headboard when we replaced our mattress going from a queen to a king. I wanted to add a different texture to our BR, so I went with a metal headboard. No footboard, we have the space, but also have two labs who wouldn't be able to jump up onto the bed if I were to use a footboard:). As for the nightstands, I have similar nightstands to the narrower stands in your pics. However, ours have a top drawer and the bottom has a door. Tops are marble. The narrow night stands don't take up too much room, and for me that is a good thing. We have a very large bedroom, but definitely didn't want to over furnish. Also, those with wheels really don't appeal to me. Can't say enough good things about the Lexington furniture. Everyone I know who owns Lexington pieces loves them. Would love to see a pic when you've finished the room....See MoreHow would I turn a 3 bedroom into a 4 bedroom?
Comments (29)I know you will hate me for this, but please understand my view point. I am an old house LOVER! I also spent twenty years as a banker trying to talk people into understanding that their future home purchase had to be about love....and practicality. When you are in love with a house you think that the fact that it slapped around the last owners was likely because they were bad owners...they probably deserved it because they didn't do the maintenance you would do to keep it in check. You justify the little issues like the third eye as something minor instead of realizing that a third eye is not actually a normal thing and will require some seriously expensive custom lenses. You turn a wet basement into a couple puddles.... Ten years,..no lets make it five if you get the house....if you find that my pessimistic attitude was totally incorrect and your home turned out to be perfect beyond compare...please tell me I am wrong so I can learn a lesson. But if on the other hand my gazillion years of trying to make people understand that they should buy a home they love....but should equally involve their brains and heart in the equation turns out to make some sense in your potential chris brown like situation.....well be sure to share that valuable experience as well so that others can learn from you...and make light of your experience because "that will never happen to them". I tried to buy the egg and I farm as a young wife ohhhhh so many years ago thinking that a house with walls falling down and a tree growing in the living room just needed our tender and inexperienced care to bring it back.....the bank laughed...thank god!...See MoreMaster Bedroom Pics please...........

Comments (6)I'd paint the walls a sage green. It's gender neutral. Do the ceiling a shade or two lighter. Paint the bookcase the same color as the wall and put it up on top of the dresser. Because it's a kids room fasten the furniture to the walls so it can't be pulled down on the kids. Her vanity I'd paint the same shade as the walls and then do a very puffy skirt on it in the green with some pink thrown in. Think of it as a ballet skirt lots of netting, glittery fabric. You could attach the skirt with a staple gun and then glue gun trim over the top to hide the staples. I'd give any stool or chair you get her the same treatment. A oval mirror above the vanity would be darling. I'd be incline to use green and white checks for the window treatments and bedding covers however knowing how kids are and depending on their ages that might be a battle you won't win. They all seem to love their special character bedding no matter how much it doesn't go with the room they are in AND since they are kids I wouldn't fight it. Save that battle for when they are older. I would give each child a white board and a cork board in their bed area to write on and to keep things that are important to them hung....See Morepianolady
