Found this site while surfing around tonight...awesome selection of molds! Definitely different and hard to find stuff...

Heather---yup, they got food!

cats, animals, celtic, celestial...you name it, they probably have it!

It was fun looking around for sure.

hey jill, thanks for thinking of me! i got my basset hound molds from them...they're pretty good molds. they're more rubbery than hard plastic so they were easy to pop out. or at least that's how my basset molds were.

and yes, they have very unique molds and they also have some really random stuff in their inventory. they do alot of business on ebay. beautiful soaps...i can't tell if they painted or poured. both? they were quick with my stuff and the only drawback is how spendy they are.

I think I've read 99% of the pages they have on that site. Wow---can't think of anything they don't have a mold for.

I noticed that they mention mica colorants a lot - but I can't imagine that all of those soaps are done purely w/mica and NOT paint. Their micas come in a liquid form...looks interesting.

Glad to hear that you had good exp. w/the co.

jrslick, I would feel guilty killing the ants... will if I have to but I will wait it out and see if I can find another way... I am Muslim and we aren't supposed to kill ants. We can if they become a nuisance though... I will try to spend time watching the ladybugs and see if the ants are attacking them..... glib, I hope that female ladybug lays her eggs on my plants! I juts looked up the lifecycle of ladybugs and I had no idea they have a larvae, then pupa stage before emerging as adult ladybugs... I wonder what that bug is in my third photo... I wonder if they hibernate here? Maybe during the worst of the summer temperatures? jean001a, thank you, though for a "garden" it really is just veggie plants in containers up on our concrete roof. I never knew about the syrphid/flower fly before! It makes me excited to know I at least have some beneficial bugs starting to visit up on my roof garden :) I am going to leave my plants alone for a few days and hope more beneficial bugs come and can eat up the aphids.

Clean it weekly, and not enough to notice will ever build up with decent ventilation. This is what baffles me more than anything. Unless you're dealing with high-maintenance materials, it just isn't that har to keep a bathroom of any age clean. But so many people cite their bathrooms as being "dirty" as a reason for remodeling. I can get anything but rust stains out of white grout. Just CLEAN it if it's dirty, and don't expect a new bathroom to magically stay clean. (I've even read posts by people upset that they have mildew in their new shower--as if it's the tilee-setter's fault! CLEAN the danged thing. It isn't rocket science.)

Yes, it is called rebatching, and I will avoid it if at all possible. It's time consuming and tedious. To let you know, I make cp soap by the 10 pound recipes. I presently have 2 buckets of soap scraps, I would guess about a 2 or 3 cubic foot container. Instead of rebatching it I will add it to a new recipe of soap. Unlike what you have, this is still virgin soap scraps, not previously used. I will make soap and give these away or use them ourselves. What I would do if I had these previous used scraps, I would just add it to a new bar as they are being used; they do stick fairly readily, and they rarely come off. If you are going to still rebatch, I would grate them, then lightly mist them (not dripping) the night before, then add them to a crockpot on low or medium heat. You will need to set aside about 4 hours or so, depending on how much soap you need to do. The trick is to add just enough water (by the tablespoon) to keep the soap pliable and not dry, while you are trying to mash it, until it is thoroughly melted. Be careful, this soap is very hot while in the crock! Any scent of the scraps will disappear in the final product, so if you want it scented, then let the soap cool down a bit and mix in scent just before pour/mashing it into any molds. hth

They are very pretty, Hazel, but I agree with you that the picture (or our conception of the picture) was misleading. They did make very nice petals, but don't seem to be nearly as impressive (in shape, size, and intricacy) as the photo posted by the seller. However, they are beautiful and I think they will sell well. Susan

I've noticed them on e-bay also, and glanced through their site. Kinda pricey, but like the idea of rubbery molds. I think I remember seeing somewhere that the soaps were painted. Either way - they are very patient.

My feelings exactly, Crafty Girl! These are beautiful, stunning molds, but can you imagine the work and the time required to get your soap to look like that??? I am lazy- I prefer to just pour my soap and have it come out pretty! I don't think any of the molds I saw would be quite as impressive without their special artistic touches (the painting or various colors, etc.).
