Hi all, Word of warning: I have a mildew/soap scum problem on my tile (I think they are porcelain or ceramic tile walls)because of poor circulation in our walk-in shower. I sprayed clorox on the walls, let sit and then sprayed them down. We went on vaca for a few days, came back and now the walls are etched with streaks. I have scrubbed and scrubbed and in reading John Bridge Tile Forum it seems I've permanently bleached my tiles. So be careful using acidic and bleaching products on your tiles - if they are ceramic. We will probably have to redo our shower if we ever put our house on the market to sell (we can live with it for now). Also on this same forum they have this as a cleaner which I will try in the future. If anyone has tried it please post and let us know how it worked. Instructor stated that boric acid works on mold bodies like it does on roach bodies - cuts them and they bleed to death because they cannot "coagulate" (snakes and snails and puppydog tails). I guess we all know that there are some very beneficial molds, too.' One last note on the above solution. This solution will not "bleach" out the mold stain. After mold is under control, then you can bring out the bleach and whiten the mold stains.'

First of all I want to thank everyone for your help! I finally got all the soap scum off the glass doors with Kaboom. I will swear by the stuff! And thanks to Albert 135, I will never get it back on there. I put a shower curtain on the inside of the glass doors and now I only have to clean once a week to two weeks. It's WONDERFUL considering I work 40+ hours a week! Oh, and by the way, (This is to dilly dally) NO they are NOT frosted glass. I'm not plain stupid, thanks...

First of all, I would recommend you stop using bar soap all-together. The soap scum (lots) it leaves versus that of shower gels (hardly any) swore me off bat dial decades ago. I like a recessed area for taller bottles and a shorter area for things like a razor, loofah, etc. look at what you use on a regular barista and make sure the cutout area will handle it. Will try to post a photo I’m planning on in my remodel in a minute.

I've recommended Bio-clean many times on these boards, It is simply the best...no hard scrubbing (water spots require more scrubbing than soap scum), no harsh chemicals, smells very pleasant (minty) for removing soap scum and hard water spots from many different types of surfaces. It's especially great on glass shower doors. It is pricey, but the container is large and you don't need to use much, so it lasts forever. I sent for it from their website after I tried a sample from Ace Hardware, but I think Ace is a better place - this package is much smaller and affordable. I bought the cream in a jar, but I think they told me it is the same product. Be sure you get the Bio-Clean with the hyphen. There is another Bioclean or Biokleen; they are not the right product.
