I am a huge fan of this brand of mowers. Used them for over 30 yrs and they have been a staple in our family. I do however have two questions re: repair that I have never done and hoped that someone could help me. 1) I have a 7086 that needs the recoil assy replaced. I can't figure out how to get it off! Also, can the spring be reused? If so, how would I do that? 2) I have a 10550 that I have stripped of all the bells and whistles (self-propel, speed controls, etc). They created too many problems. As a result, my starter cord is hanging out of the engine about 3 feet. I cut it and reattached the handle. I can start it, but it only has 12"-18" in length. How can I add more string. Also, can I attach a vintage carb. to this model that has the speed control just above the air filter. You know, the green ones with the white lever. I would appreciate any solutions or advice!

Hi guys, I've had my NXR range since 2009 and we just ordered a replacement range after 15 years of ownership. It still works great. except for the annoying clicking burners (I developed a workaround "fix" to stop the clicking, but it can be dangerous, and I previously posted the way I did it on this thread) My video: NXR Range Clicking Fixed (youtube.com) Anyway, the new range comes in next week, and I plan on salvaging many parts from this unit before they remove it, since I understand many parts are not available to order any longer. I'm trying to get an idea of what people may want/need for their ovens. If anyone has any specific needs, please post what you need as I will be listing them on Ebay for reasonable prices. I already listed the grates and burners since they remove easily. Thanks..

Sounds like you've just about declared it dead :) If it is, it is, but I just wanted to try to narrow it down, and I didn't want to throw money around willy-nilly in the hopes of figuring out what the problem is. Your search took me to Ebay Canada. I took the liberty of changing the .ca to .com to get Ebay US, but with the same search. Why pay extra shipping if I don't have to? Like I said, I'm a novice at this, so I may not be entirely sure what I'm looking at, but from what I've noticed, I only clicked on the ones that had 3 memory slots (I have three sticks, so might as well use them), and from what I could tell, all the ones I looked at were listed as used, and total with shipping they still came darned close to $90. I did see this one below which ends in the morning (hopefully nobody here will sabotage me and bid against me!) and comes with a CPU which is slower than mine. I don't know the difference between a K8N-E and a K8N4-E. At least in the one I showed you earlier this morning, the MB was used, but the CPU that came with it was an UPGRADE to the one I have now. In fact, it's the fastest chip that can go in that board. The chip by itself (ATHLON 3400 CPU, 754 socket) is selling for $25US anyway on Ebay. I just thought overall, the whole repair would be cheaper, since I can replace my CPU for under $10, but if the going price of these motherboards means I'm going to wind up paying (total with shipping) $80-$90 anyway for a used board with no CPU, I just as well get the one with the 3400 in case my CPU is fried as well, correct? Thank you again, and forgive me if I'm being presumptuous. I just want to make sure I'm understanding correctly. If I'm wrong in any way, feel free to slap my wrist. In the early 1980s, I also arranged home party needlecraft demos for the Creative Circle. Their kits included crewel embroidery, cross stitch, needlepoint, and applique projects. The guests had a lot of fun! Some of them bought the full-sized kits, some did not - they just came for the party kit and to socialize, which is also great! I looked up Creative Circle online, and the needlecraft company site said nothing about home parties, but they do sell kits online now. There is also a different company called Creative Circle that is a "recruiting and consulting services company". They have nothing to do with needle crafts. I still have, and display, my samples from when I was a party consultant. They are very high quality and beautiful.
