I am planning a charity plant sale to benefit Children�s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals in support of Children's Hospital Boston (see enclosed) to be held this May 2011 . I would like your assistance. I successfully facilitated a small-scale plant sale May 2010 and raised $10,500.00. I hope to raise $20,000 in 2011. I am asking for your support in donating: * Any plant material such as Aloe Vera plants, African Violets, and more common seasonal annuls and perennials * propagation supplies (seeds, light carts, trays, plug cells, starting mix, plant tags, fertilizer, seed mats, etc) * Any staff that would like to spend a few hours sharing their knowledge of plants at the sale; monetary donations were always greater when a green-thumb was on hand to advise. I used to make them for my kids years ago. You can buy the large plastic needles at any fabric store. My kids would draw a pic onto cardboard, then I would use my hole punch and they thought that was great! BTW, you can replace the shoelaces in the ones at Walmart with yarn if you want. Something else my kids enjoyed was working with plastic canvas. Cut the canvas into squares and let them sew the squares together to make boxes, using the large plastic needles and yarn. Thank you everyone. I have had help. Another lady was piecing as fast as I could cut! I'm not sure what made the foot break. All of a sudden the needle stopped because a plastic piece had cracked and then bent the unit, which the needle then hit. High quality needle though, it didn't break and is still going strong. I couldn't believe it. Some of the Seeds N Stitches gang might recognize fat quarters they had swapped with me. LOL Just finished another and will post pictures, probably when they are all done this week.

I first posted about my charity project near the beginning of the year,in the past 6 months almost 1,600 preemie bereavement sets (gown, hat, booties,blanket) and buntings have been sewn and donated to hospitals. Hospitals in PA, WI, NJ, NY, MD and CT have received these items already. I continue to look for sources of scrap lace and fabrics and appreciate any advice you have.
